What is the difference between the Hunter and the Scout? I am very interested in a lower priced single shot in .450BM and although the Hunter is not being produced in 2020 by CVA, it is still available in gun shops. There is a little over $100 price difference between the two and wondered if the higher cost of the V2 was really worth it?

Russ, The differences are the Scout is stainless and has a fluted barrel, Hunter is blued. Scout has a KDF Brake and 23" (25" w/brake) of usable barrel, Hunter has the full 25" barrel. Scout has the trigger guard breeching lever, Hunter has breeching lever in front of trigger guard.

Does this gun come with the durasight rail pictured?

I was surprised at the fit and finish on this rifle it was nicer then I imagined , and it shouldered nicely. The brake is nicely fitted and helps with recoil a lot . Im very happy with this choice.

The CVA 450 Bushmaster is very loud recoils not terrible very nice gun think it will be good for killing deer

I've had experience with two of these rifles in 450 bushmaster. Both clover leaf 3 shots from sandbags at 100yds with hand loads. Heavier than I expected a single shot to be but that helps with the recoil. Stock is cheap but the gun just shoots. CVA has really stepped up their games.

Received gun and for the money I paid I don't think you can do better. The trigger is light and crisp. The finish and ergonomics of this gun are excellent. All mechanical mechanisms work as they way they should and feel smooth. The only thing I will say it negative is you will need to give it a good cleaning as there is alot of fluid from the machining process still on the firearm. You'll want to make sure to remove the scope mount and degrease and remount it

I purchased the CVA SCOUT for a hunt coming up this next year in a state that allows straight walled case cartridges only.
I was surprised by the quality of this s firearm. It s well made and breaks down easily. The accuracy is much ch better than any hunting application requires.
If you are planning a hunt in those states or just shooting from a stand you can’t go wrong with this firearm.
