1876 Winchester introduced a new lever action rifle. The Winchester
1876 rifle was called the Centennial Rifle, in commemoration of the one
hundredth anniversary of the United States. Favored by the likes of
Theodore Roosevelt, the 1876 Centennial Rifle was the king of its day.
It was discontinued in 1898, after 63,871 of the Winchester lever action
rifles had been produced.
Now, 132 years after the first 1876 rifle was produced by Winchester, Uberti has brought this legend back to life, even better than before. Uberti proudly introduces the Uberti 1876 Centennial Rifle, an exact replica of the Winchester Centennial Rifle. With better, stronger materials and more precise machining to exacting tolerances and specifications, today’s model is stronger and more accurate with modern smokeless and black powder ammunition. True to the original Winchester rifles, the Uberti 1876 Centennial Rifle is chambered in the hard-hitting calibers: .45-60, .45-75, .50-95, and .40-60. Very nice reproduction of the 1876. It is definitely a very well made rifle. Have not had the chance to fire this rifle yet, as I just received ammo for same as of this writing. In conclusion, if you like history as I do, then you will love this rifle.

After a good out of the box cleaning and lube, the first thing that stood out was the flawless fit/finish, bluing & the color case hardening was absolutely beautiful. The action was very smooth with an exceptionally nice hammer and trigger pull. I had no issue loading up 10 in the tube and even the last one popped in place without having to risk my fingers trying to get it aligned properly. My initial loading, cycling & firing tests were accomplished with trimmed down Starline 45-70 brass (1.89"), 300g RNFP (sized at .458} HI-TEC Powder Coated cookies motivated by 60 g's of the good stuff. Every round cycled smoothly and fired perfectly. It even produced a nice 3.5 inch group at 100 yds with just one elevation adjustment to the rear buckhorn sight. I only had one notable issue and that was the lever safety button spring probably needs some work. It is very stiff and I found that I almost had to wrap a finger or two outside the loop to assist in holding it up. That may simply be something that one would have to get used to but I'd prefer not having to worry about the extra effort it took to hold the lever up. Even with the one small issue I couldn't be more satisfied. Uberti - Cimarron and of course Buds made this purchase a real TRIFECTA and easily earned 5 stars from me.
