The Ruger Hawkeye Alaskan features a Hogue OverMolded stock molded from
durable synthetic rubber that provides a soft, recoil-absorbing feel
without affecting accuracy. Its cold hammer-forged barrel results in
ultra-precise rifling that provides exceptional accuracy and longevity.
The barrel also features a the Ruger Muzzle Brake System that includes a
removable, radial-port muzzle brake that significantly reduces felt
recoil. The non-rotating, Mauser-type controlled round feed extractor is
among the most positive case extraction systems ever invented, and
features a fixed blade-type ejector that positively ejects the empty
cases as the bolt is moved fully rearward. The Hawkeye Alaskan also
utilizes a hinged solid-steel floorplate, solid-steel receiver, LC6
trigger, three-position safety and a thread protector. Includes- barrel
band mounted swivel stud; optional forend swivel stud.

Great rifle got to the range the first time today with it and very impressed. With the muzzle break this gun in 300 win mag has very little recoil and besides the deafening muzzle blast that came out of this monster you would never guess you were shooting a 300 win mag.(and yes I was wearing hearing protection!) as far as ammo I shot hornady American whitetail 150gr and 180 gr. Made shot groups so tight that all three shot groups were either touching or just about touching. Hit steel targets at 100, 200, and 300 yards with ease. Couldn’t be happier with the rifle. I definitely will be putting a suppressor on this rifle in place of the muzzle break. Great rifle from Ruger!

An excellent rifle in every way. If you want a all weather, solid rifle with controlled round feed, iron sights for back up and fantastic accuracy, this is your rifle. I use Barnes 180gr. TTSX ammo and at 100 yards will get one ragged hole using a Leupold 1.5-5X scope. Great rifle that Ruger can be proud of and so can you. I highly recommend this rifle.
