Right out of the box I installed a muzzle brake, CDI bottom metal, Timney trigger, EGW 20 moa base, weaver tactical rings, Vortex viper hs lr 4x16x50 and cut the bolt knob off and installed a tactical knob. Were these mods necessary to make this a great hunting rifle? Absolutely not but now it’s the rifle I wanted. I loaded up 3 different charges of H1000 and 185 Berger vld hunting bullets (5 each) and headed to the range. After getting the gun on paper and cleaning the bore between each shot for the first five shots I started with the handloads. I was very pleased with the results. The three one hundred yard five shot groups were .87”, .66” and .52”. This rifle is showing great potential for me and already more than acceptable accuracy for hunting.

As always Buds sent the rifle out immediately and I received it at my local FFL in perfect condition. I installed a Jewell trigger and a radial muzzle break. I can't wait to shoot next week! Thanks again Scott H

Beautiful, super accurate, and a lot of fun. I've since put it in a Grayboe stock and set it up with lots of goodies for 1000+ yard ranges. But the barreled action of this rifle is top notch, and Remington is cake to buy mods and upgrades for.

Mine loves the 208gr Amax and 210gr VLD. I shot the stock trigger for a while and put in a Timney which is a huge improvement. I installed a Lantac muzzle brake which tightened groups up even further. It will shoot clover leaves at 100yd and have taken game over 500. Love this rifle. Heavy to carry in the mountains.

This will probably be a very accurate rifle, but it is very rough in many other ways and a bit of a disappointment. The finish on the magazine floor plate is very crude and they obviously didn't smooth it correctly before they bead blasted it. I'm not overly picky about something like this, but the finish on the floor plate is just plain ugly. Also, the rear guard screw is too long and it actually protrudes through the top of the tang! The top of the tang also has deep milling marks right where the screw comes through. I can reduce the length of the screw, but I won't be able to fix the milling marks. Finally, the front sling mount screw was not inserted properly so it is not tight in the stock when it is oriented correctly to accept sling hardware. It is impossible to turn it another full revolution to get it tight and straight because it would then strip out the threads. All of this is just sloppy workmanship and a lack of manufacturing standards. Oh well...I bought this rifle because I could not afford a Tikka T3 Tac. Perhaps I should saved a bit longer. I will also have to spend several hundred dollars to replace the miserable trigger that comes with this rifle, but at least I was well aware of that when I purchased it.

5 out of 5! would give it a 6 if possible! this rifle with my ziess conquest 4.5-14x50 is a match made in heaven! nice clovers out to 600yrds with a little work and some handloads! You are gonna want to use a recoil pad for all day shooting (or anything over 10 rounds)

So far so good, I hate stainless guns but the performance alone was my sole reason for purchasing this gun. Its about as close to a custom gun you can get with out going full blown custom. I like buds but they need to get their shipping dept under control, 1st week guy inputted the wrong gun 2nd took me 3 days to figure out if I was getting the right gun or not 3rd week I finally got my gun I paid 1100+ for, I will gladly use buds again being I have bought a savage as well I got in 3 days time, as long as this dont happen again I will be a happy customer. Thanks buds. So far I have my new 5R in a AICS 2.0 w/ a Timney trigger and SWFA 5-20x50 cant wait till this beast is fully broken in.
