Savage 111DOA XP 7MM REM BUSHNELL - Blue/Black, 24" Barrel, 4+1 Rounds

Like this rifle. Typical Savage great quality at a great price.

Took my new 7mm Rem. mag to the range and sighted it in at 50 to get it on paper. I was pleasantly supprised that the recoil wasn't excessive. During my range session I shot sixteen times with no bruising to my shoulder! It's a great gun! Accuracy was also great! I cannot wait to shoot it again and sight it in at 100 yards!

After receiving the rifle I cleaned it, pulled the scope, rings, and bases then properly installed them with the correct torque(all were loose). Off to the range to break-in the barrel and get an idea what bullets it likes. I was impressed with the DOA scope as it does work well. After 25 rounds of sighting in and cleaning the barrel several times, I was hitting a 8" steel plate at 300 yards every time with 140 grain Federal Fusion bullets. For the after rebate price of $280.00 shipped this rifle was a great bargain. Light weight, accurate, and fun to shoot.

First let me say this was first purchase from Buds and all went smooth, however shipping time was far from impressive on their part. Rifle was a tack driver at the range shooting sub Moa groups at 100 yards with Winchester factory ammo. Clip has a cheep looking plastic retainer / release that doesn't work well. Scope exceeded my expectation, very clear although not a lot of eye relief at 9 power. As a hunting firearm this package is excellent. Be sure to tighten all mounting screws on scope before use as mine was shipped with these loose. Overall four stars as i star deduction for clip.
