I bought this ammo as a possible EDC round for my new S&W M69 with a 2.75" barrel. My other option was the Hornady Critical Defense .44 Spl 165 gr. Overall, I liked the Speer load, but the noise and flash compared to the other option made me go with the other option for EDC. I do think that the Speer Short Barrel Gold Dot .44Mag is an excellent product and it's really too bad that Speer has discontinued manufacture. If you have a short barrel .44 Mag, you should definitely consider this product.
