what a beautiful piece! thankfully that picture does it no justice, it is not bright brass and blue like it shows, it is much more subdued and gorgous! have not shot it yet but i am quite sure it will be a wonderul experience! fit and finish is lovely and feels like the real one. balance is nice with the 4-3/4" barrel but i think the 5.5" looks more correct. always wanted a real Colt 1873 but got tired of seeing ridiculous prices for authinic wornout antiques when i could have one of these for a fraction of the cost and not cringe everytime i pull the trigger. beautiful gun! i dont want to put it down, hope it shoots as lovely as all my other 45LC beasties!

My first charcoal blue gun and I have to say this is a Very nice looking gun. Take it out into a bright sunny day to fully appreciate the blue. This is a 4 click model as it should be. Trigger is typical for this model.

first- this is a 4 click hammer model. At the time of this review, the "black powder frame" models had not been switched over to the other type hammer safeties. It is pretty much as it was in 1873, as many of us think it should always be, So far this has been an excellent gun, it shoots straight but low, I will try a hotter load or lighter bullet before possibly filing the front sight. Fit and finish are excellent, the charcoal bluing is very eye-catching and seems to be more robust than some other reviewers had lead me to expect. Overall it lives up to my expectations for a cimarron import gun. I have 4 now, one is another one just like this one stashed in the safe. I fully expect that over time these copies will be valued for their true (er) function than most of the SAA colt copies on the market now,
