This was a great purchase for me. I am happy with the rifle. It is a piston driven rifle that goes bang ever time i pull the trigger. I did a quick cleaning of the rifle and took it to the range. I put 175-200 rounds through it with 30 rd magazines and it ate them up with no problem. It has 3 settings on the piston switch(single round, regular shooting, and subsonic rounds.) so you can choose how you want to use it.I really have only used it on the regular setting, so I can't speak on the other 2 settings. The stock is adjustable to the shooter, which is a nice feature. Overall, I'm pleased with the rifle and would recommend it to anyone that asked.

I have wanted one of these piston driven rifles for a long time, and I learned Adams Arms made these rifles which are considerably less expensive than it's competitors. I have never ordered via Bud's Guns before, and a friend helped my through this process since he has ordered several firearms from Bud's. About two weeks later my rifle arrived at my selected dealer, and I was very happy with the entire ordering process. I took the rifle to the range a few days later, and I put about 150 rounds through it with absolutely zero hiccups. I used a 2 moa red dot sight, and once zeroed, it shot consistently to the point of aim. The Adams Arms AA-15 was a joy to shoot, and I found it very reliable with the Federal, and PMC 55 grain ammo I used that day. Next time I will try 69 grain fodder. After shooting, I cleaned the rifle which I found a very easy task since the only part requiring cleaning was the piston/cylinder area, and that was done by simply wiping down those components. I am very happy with the rifle, and with Bud's!

I was previously a member of a marksmanship unit for the Texas Army National Guard, and I am currently a Peace Officer for a large municipality in Texas. I have been carrying a DD M4 since the first batch came out in 2008. I love that rifle, but, in the event of its use in a deadly force situation, I would have to turn over my rifle for an extended period of time until such an event was cleared through all proper channels. I had fired a few piston driven AR’s and liked them, when I saw Bud’s had a sale on this rifle, I jumped on it. For the price, if the unfortunate event of a deadly force situation arose, I would be out far less money to replace this rifle. Of course, Bud’s shipping was very fast. On the first day, I took the rifle home, sat her on the bench, gave her a thorough cleaning and replaced the trigger. The stock trigger was fine, but I have my personal preferences and decided to install a suitable trigger that falls within my department guidlines. I had the rifle sighted in within 3 shots, and I was shocked. I did not expect the carbine to shoot so well, so quickly. With a 1-4x24 optic, I was able to put 5 duty rounds under a nickel at 100 yards. We zero at 50 yards per SOP, and 5 shots were all touching or covering each other at 50, under a dime. I then put the rifle through standard drills and went through about 500 rounds in the first day. No failures have occurred at any time with this rifle, largely using American Eagle ammo, which is dirty stuff. I’ve had the rifle for 6 months now and have sent well over 1500 rounds downrange during drills and precision shooting. I can say this rifle far surpassed my expectations and I didn’t take her apart and clean her until around 1200 rounds. I use a quality synthetic lube, and the rifle was easily cleaned. The gas block will get VERY hot, so watch your hand placement or wear quality gloves should your chosen grip extend out that far. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars was because of the gas block height, which it taller than the receiver and the lack of ability to change to an aftermarket rail system. If you are thinking of adding a railed forend, save yourself the money, time and headache... Pass on this model and buy one properly equipped from the start. However, if you are LE or military, Adams Arms does offer a discount should you need to upgrade or change the configuration of your rifle.

I purchased this rifle from Bud's and I am very happy with the purchase. Bud's sent it to my FFL and there was no issues. The gun arrived safely and in perfect condition. I installed a Vortex Spitfire 1x, oiled it up and took it to the range. I fired 150 rounds of XM855 5.56mm 62 grain ammo using Magpul Gen3 magazines and It worked flawlessly! I have since replaced all the furniture with Magpul products. The Magpul Moe SL hand guard is a very tight fit and difficult to install but it does fit. I am very happy with this rifle especially after upgrading the furniture. The stock furniture is junk but that is expected at this price point. I can't speak about the long term reliability but it has worked flawlessly for me so far.

Here is my review of my New Adams Arms AR. I am a Kansas Peace Officer and I purchased this rife for duty usage. I have always used Colt LE model AR’s and they have served me well over the years. I had this idea to try a Piston Driven AR. I purchased the Adams Arms from Buds.com and buds was great. Received my Adams Arms from My FFL and took it home for a good cleaning and inspection. This rifles piston system looks like a quality made and the bolt looks nice. I cleaned everything with CLP and went to the range to qualify with it. This is where my three star ⭐️ rating comes in. I shot 40 total rounds and then called it quits. There was a double feed or a stove pipe on all 40 rounds. I decided to take it home clean it good and contact Adams Arms. After 4 days of email traffic with Adams Arms I don’t have a clear solution. I called Buds.com and they said they would help find a solution for this issue.

This is about as bare bones as you can get with a gas piston rifle. Rifle arrived in a plain white box wrapped in bubble wrap and craft paper. No owners manual/ instructions, child lock, sticker or any other swag. It did include a Gen2 Magpul mag (which must had been pulled from a store shelf as it still had the price tag on it) and....... that's it. Rifle has standard phosphate finish, but the upper and lower are two different shades, and the barrel looks blued, but it has a very good feel and finish which is kinda different. It seems well built, just basic and not really asthetically pleasing. Compared it to my other Adams Arms rifle (standard rifle; not an agency) I bought as a blem several years ago from Buds (never did find the blem) you can tell corners were cut as this rifle was built to a price point. Barrel or chamber do not appear to be chrome lined and the receiver looks a little less refined than my other rifle. So far it goes bang with each trigger pull. The price I bought it at was a pretty good deal, but I noted today the price had increased by $100.00. I would never had even looked at it at this current higher price. Much better options in the near $700.00 price range.

So far I've put about 1,000 rounds through the gun, starting out was very rough, essentially single fire because the bolt wasn't going back far enough to pickup a new round. After about 60 bullets of that it finally sorted itself out and hasn't had a failure since!

Thanks to Buds for a great price and fast service, but the rifle itself had problems, the trigger would not always reset but I thought it just needed more break in rounds but after about 100 rounds it would not reset at all. I contacted Adams Arms and they sent me a prepaid shipping label to send the rifle to them. I got the rifle back in 8 days and they said they replaced the trigger assembly. I have put 300 rounds thru it and now it functions perfectly and their customer service was very courteous and fast, I am well pleased.

Win win, this gun is awesome, have two. The piston keeps the bolt cool and clean. Accurate and no FTF or FTE. Love the fact that due to Adams Arms gas block you can leave it in semi, suppressed or single shot. Adams Arms has hit a home run, they have their own plant and now make all parts for their guns.

A:Chynson, the Samson Star C EX-P hand guard will fit. This is old and many of the links are broken but you can contact some of the listed makers of hand guards that will fit the Adams Arms Piston Carbine. --- https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/The_list_of_Adams_Arms_piston_compatible_hand_guards/126-677223/ -
