Remington took years of IPSC and 3-gun shotgun modifications and put the best ones in this top of the line gun. Also it came with all the chokes I need. I’m disappointed they decided to do away with the great carrying case that used to come with it. This is my home defense, Range, Skeet, and hunting gun. Because it’s a Versa Max, I change out barrels; drop in a plug and it’s my turkey, duck and skeet gun. I’m very impressed with the quality and tightness of every piece of this gun. Oh - it shoots awesome too!

This is just a cool shotgun. I have never done 3-gun but wanted a semiauto to take to sporting clays that stood out and had some modern features, including interchangeable chokes. Be sure to check the magazine cap now and then, it has a tendency to come loose after awhile. I put a little thread locker on mine and it's holding fine now. If you want a performer that turns heads this one is for you.

I bought the VersaMax over the Beretta and Benelli due to the extras included with it as I am starting to get into 3 gun matches. I have had it for three months now and I was on the fence about it. Some issues I noticed after only the second time shooting it. First the choke tube would not stay tight. I have to constantly keep tightening it. Second the magazine extension tube won't stay tight either. Third, after the second time at the range the bolt release screw came out and with it the button fell to the ground. Lucky I found it. I put lock tight on it and it's ok now. I am let down by these issues as I know if I had bought the Benelli I would not have had them. Now for the good. It shoots great! Target loads, buckshot, to slugs. 2 3/4 to 3 inch it handles them all. Have about 500 rounds through it without cleaning and not one malfunction. It's heavier then the Benelli but it shoots softer. I had my first three gun match this past weekend and I used it for 25 yard buckshot targets and then at 75 yards slugs shooting 8 inch steel and it preformed perfectly! The 10 round magazine is a huge advantage! Overall the finish could be better but the performance has been perfect! This is the fifth gun I have ordered from Buds Gun Shop and once again, two days later, it was at my FFL for pickup. Best prices I can find!

Outstanding shotgun!! Soft shooting and quick to get back on target. The fiber optic front sight is very easy to pickup. Have only shot approximately 300 rnds of 2 3/4" target loads thus far but not a single malfunction or hiccup. Used it as a staged shotgun during our last tactical class and each of the 9 shooters in the class where able to shoot a COF with it. All were very impressed with the way it shot and handled. The only drawback is the magazine cap constantly needs to be tightened down. Overall, very pleased with the Versa Max Competition Tactical and highly recommend it.

Absolutely love this Shotgun, i had a Versamax Tactical before, but due to a crazy ex ended up losing it. Finally saved up enough for this beastie cause it will do everything i need a shotgun to do. Mostly shoot in the local competitions, and will probably use it for the occasional squirrel. probably have only around 200 rounds through it but it has chewed them up and spit them out flawlessly. such a smooth running shotgun and way softer than any other 12G i have shot recently. If you think this will fit your needs, don't hesitate, def one of my favorites in my collection.

I ordered a Remington Versa Max Tactical from Buds after I tried a couple at the range. It showed up at my local FFL in a timely fashion and was in great condition. In the first 10 shots it jammed 3 times, which I think was just because it was brand new because since then I have fired a little over 1,500 rounds through it (without cleaning it) and it hasn't jammed once. I still keep an 870 "under the bed," but the Versa Max has become my favorite shotgun for the range. This model comes with an installable rail for the top, which is fun to play with red dot sights when shooting trap. The system to reduce recoil is very impressive. It reduces the recoil enough where you can even shoot 3" slugs without bruising your shoulder.

Been running this in 3 gun matches and some skeet and trap for the past 10 months. I believe I have cleaned it twice with no issues. Shoots everything I have shot from it fine. Accurate with Fiochi 3/4 oz slugs. I filed down the shell catch to make easier to load.
