Just a few initial remarks after zeroing in the rifle. Built as solidly as one would expect from FNH and the magazine is durable, and well-machined. Silly picatinny front rail sight comes off fairly easily with some WD-40 and the correct torx wrench. Included in the case is two small set screws to replace in the holes for the sight: a nice touch from FN. Also included is about 6 different shims for adjusting cast and drop of the stock as well as two different recoil pads. There is an addendum for additional instructions which perhaps will address some former complaints about the owner's manual on at least one other review I read. I was shooting 7.62 Federal Lake City rounds in FMJ and since the scope had been on an AR 10 they were high and to the right. In about 5 windage and elevation changes I was in the black at 50 yards. From then on I concentrated on a nice steady hold and readily shot a series of tight groups. Just 22 rounds fired in total as the ring mounts I was using were cheap 30 mm quick change rings and they were not going to be on a very long at any rate. I was very pleased with the 1 inch groups at the end, even as the scope rings loosened up and the scope objective was bottoming against the picatinny rail. Next time out with good stable rings, I will move out to 100 yds. and take it from there. I have a very favorable impression of the rifle in this first round and recoil was not too bad. For those of you who are wondering, the lack of threading on the barrel end is my only complaint at this point. Hanging a flash hider / compensator on the end would be a nice final touch and I can see it happening...even on my dime.

Great service from Buds. Put a scope and mounts especially designed for.308 on it and it is an amazingly accurate rifle. Comfortable to shoot and has bolt action accuracy as advertised. At first, I was not crazy about the blue tint but now like it. Can't wait to compete with my son on pronghorns!
