I've had this rifle for a bit 3 years now and have put a few thousands rounds through it. It's been very accurate and eats anything I put through it. My only complaint is the magazine. While the bolt hold open is nice, the mechanism seems to cause complications and I've had to dismantle mine a few times when it stopped feeding. That being said, standard 10/22 mags and 3rd party mags are cheap and work great!

Overall, the gun is well designed and functioned properly. Two issues are the factory magazine and the sights. The magazine functioned poorly, including failure to feed and the bolt lock not working. Ruger magazines work perfectly, so that is the workaround. The rear sight adjustment was maxed out to get windage dialed in, but elevation adjustment left us three inches high at 25 yards. Had to mount a red dot so that accuracy could be addressed.

Wonderful 10/22 shoots just as good as the other guys. Plus you get a threaded barrel, better sights and built in pic rail.

First and foremost... I love the Ruger 10/22, and have for years. I will not be trading them in anytime soon. Now that that's out of the way though, let me discuss the Thompson T/C R22. What a great plinker! This thing came loaded with options that you would have to pay another $150 dollars for aftermarket. I mean it comes with a MAGPUL stock from the factory for Pete's sake! Very accurate, very durable, and very fun! I would recommend this .22 to anyone wanting a great rifle. It accepts all 10/22 aftermarket gadgets, and has a threaded barrel for a suppressor. If you are torn between the Ruger or the T/C, then you have to weigh out exactly what you want. What I will say though, is that you will NOT go wrong with the T/C R22! Thanks to Bud's! Perfect out of the box. A great value for the price. I would highly recommend this rifle over a stock Ruger 10/22 and it comes with a Smith and Wesson Warranty - the best in the business.

I just had the chance to shoot my TC/R22 from Bud’s. Really enjoyed shooting it. The TC functions perfectly, as I would expect, and my Ruger mags worked great. The stock seems just a hair short for me, but, that is easy to remedy. It is a great gun and pure fun and joy to shoot. Excellent choice.

really like this little tack driver, right out of the box...no adjustments, doesn't miss....thought about a scope but, just gonna shoot it as is, no frills and accurate...thumbs up!

This is the a clone of the 10/22 rifle. It’s what you wanted from the factory! Threaded barrel, fiber optic front sight and receiver mounted rear peep sight. Takes all 10/22 magazines however the TC rotary mag has last round hold open. It has a TC/Magpul co branded stock which is awesome. Very comfortable to shoot. It also has a pic rail machined into the receiver.

Ruger 10/22 but better in everywhere

Bought this as another small game rifle..
Took it to the range today...out of the box it shot 1" groups at 25 yards with 2 flyers.
Put 250 rounds through it...groups started shrinking....I moved to 50 yards...shot another 100 rounds groups shrunk to 3/4"...put another 100 through it...
At 50 yards with a Bushnell rimfire 3-9x40 scope....I was shooting a tad over 1/2"...
Shooting CCI standards...
This rifle is a shooter....absolutely no failures...magazine takes a little getting use to...just dont force the rounds and the first round will drop in ...if you use brute force to load the magazine you'll fight it.
Absolutely a great rifle....buy it.

I have always wanted a Ruger 10/22. I chose the TCM which is a 10/22 clone with a couple of improvements. I bought two extended magazines 1 25 round and 1 50 round and they work flawlessly. I put 1000 rounds through the TCM without even a hiccup. I love everything about this rifle and i’m very happy. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

I believe this rifle will become a classic. Even though it’s basically a copy of the Ruger 10/22 it has a couple of better features.
