The AR556 is direct impingement gas-operated with a 16-inch 1:8 hammer-forged barrel threaded 1/2x28. Also featured is a windage-adjustable rear flip-up sight, a six-position telescoping M4-style buttstock with a Mil-Spec buffer tube, M4 feed ramps, a matte Type III hard coat oxide finish, enlarged trigger guard, a chrome-plated bolt carrier, and an A2-style front post sight with elevation adjustment, a bayonet lug and a Q/D attachment socket. This rifle also comes with one 30-round Magpul PMAG.

This is the 2nd rifle out of the box there was a problem with that couldn't be checked at FFL transfer now both rifles are being fixed at gun repair centers at my cost, one rifle was a new 2 year old model that wouldn't go into battery out of box and the other the paint on barrel is coming off sitting on a shelf to long then Buds tell's me to deal with manufacturer and "Century Arms are JERKS !" i'm a TEAM BUDS MEMBER and got old inventory that was defective out of the box.

Gun Review 1 Star, BUD\'s Gunshop Review Five stars. Ruger AR completely seized within the first 15 rounds of fire. Locked solid with live chamber in the round. May have been a fluke but couldn\'t see myself trusting this AR after that. Buds however was great took care of everything including the seized weapon which they finally were able with a hammer to remove the live round. Also then allowed me to return the weapon without hassle. Purchased a S&W Sport 2 instead. I typically love Ruger weapons can\'t see myself giving their AR\'s another chance though. Weapon had two stovepipes just prior to seizing completely. Not sure of the final report but i believe this was an indicator that something had failed inside the weapon. Again great service buds. On a side note very happy with my Ruger GP100

Meh. Had a steel cases cartridge get stuck in the barrel after the 15th or so shot. Had to slam the stock to get it out. Then, after a few hundred rounds, the buffer spring retaining pin came out and jammed the whole gun up. Somehow the screw that keeps the stock on came loose. My gunsmith says that is not supposed to happen. He got it fixed up and shooting but now the bolt does not always lock back on the last round; let%u2019s say more than half the time. Could be a magazine issue, but the way this gun has been working, it%u2019s probably the gun. Kind of a lame experience thus far.

Great price and service from Buds! The rifle however experienced several problems, FTFs & FTE\'s. Hoping that a through cleaning will address any issues, if not, it\'s back to Ruger. Have several Ruger firearms, have had zero problems with any of them. Hoping issue will be resolved after break in...

This \\\"Factory New\\\" rifle has blemishes and scratches all over the barrel, the dust cover has scratches all over it. There are various scuffs, scratches, blemishes on this rifle in several places. buds gun shop must not look at the guns before selling them, and rugers quality control sucks. Its my first AR, Cant help but feel disappointed.

Firearm perfect. Incredible price. Shipping was extremely fast. This was my first purchase and the only thing I would suggest to consumers is research your FFL that the firearm is going to. The FFL I used ended up being a great guy, but I didn\'t educate myself about their business hours before hand. Will do business with Bud\'s and Spider tactical again.

Great gun for the price! Haven\'t shot this one yet, but I\'ve shot this model before, so I know they shoot pretty well. Lower and upper fit together nice and snug. My only complaint is a few minor scratches in the finish of the barrel and lower, but I\'ve never purchased a gun under $600 with a completely flawless finish.

First time buyer, ordering from Buds was a breeze. Firearm arrived within a week at my FFL, one thing I immediately noticed is how much oil/grease the gun was doused in. Not entirely a bad thing, but it certainly needed to be cleaned up before proper handling. Before taking it out to the range the first time, there were already marks/scuffs on the barrel and on the lower receiver that I can\'t get out, but none of them affect the performance of the rifle. I did take the cheapo handguard off and replace it with a drop in quadrail, and attached a red dot sight to the firearm as soon as I got it cleaned up. I found that the rear iron sight is sturdy, easy to use, however difficult to maintain great sight picture compared to the BUIS I was issued on my M4 in the Army.

I took it out to the range and quickly got sighted in, and was impressed with the weapon functions and how smoothly rounds cycled through the rifle. Trigger squeeze is average, the reset is smooth, and I had no failure to feed in 300 rounds, even in when \"rapid\" firing the rifle. Of course, the rifle got fairly hot but it performed very well. A little bit of CLP and wipe down will go a long way to make this rifle perform flawlessly!

4/5 stars for quality of the rifle. Purchased for ~$520 - you can\'t get perfection for this cheap, but you can get a damn good rifle.
