Wow, everything I was hoping for and more. This is an amazing and beautiful piece. Such a classic and easily my new favorite gun in my collection. I was struggling between this and an AR10 and I could not be happier I kept it classic. I cannot speak for the iron sights, but with a red dot (triji MRO) it was superb all the way out past 200 yards. I suggest the red dot because the iron sights are really low and you really have to press your cheek into the stock... I put the telescoping stock on mine after removing the stock stock (super Call of Duty), it is cool that my battle rifle now has a shorter OAL than any of my .223 ARs and hunting rifles.

Haven't had the chance to shoot it yet but the rifle cycles great and the finish is also very good and this rifle feels solid and the case the rifle came in was pretty nice aswell. As of right now I would recommend this product as I have full confidence I will have no issue with the rifle once I shoot with it.

Finally had a chance to shoot this PTR-91SC today, putting about 60 rounds through at the range. Zero issues cycling both brass and steel ammo (used Perfecta, Prvi Partizan, and Tula steel case). As expected, great accuracy using iron sights (which are German H&K I believe - check the website if you need to know) and a bipod. Also I did not have any delusions from my research: the recoil is indeed heavy, and will be looking into some little upgrades going forward. Before getting the rifle, I gave PTR in South Carolina a call, and I could tell that they are a great company staffed by people who believe in their product; they provided me with sound advice on maintenance and potential future upgrades. I am very happy with this purchase. (PS. As always, Buds service and purchase system was on point)

Great gun--I already had another HK91 clone (an FA91) so I was familiar with this delayed blowback design. I wanted something closer to the original HK design than my FA91, so I ordered one of these PTR-91 rifles. These are made on genuine HK machinery that was purchased by an American company. PTR-91 rifles look to me to be every bit as good as HK rifles. The fit and finish of this squad carbine was top notch, fluted barrel and the railed handguard really set it apart. If you do not desire all of the handguard rails, they can be removed. I took the two side ones off mine to get a better grip. They bolt on. Range report: the rifle was new and not broken in, so I took an assortment of ammo just to blast away with. 20 rounds of Berdan primed steel cased Brown Bear. About every 3rd one of those did not fire. It appeared that the firing pin was not denting them hard enough. When I re-chambered the rounds that failed to fire, they fired on the second time. No such problem with the brass ammo I tried, so it may have been the ammo, or maybe this gun does not like Brown Bear. I also had 3 rounds of Winchester soft point, and 30 rounds of Spanish military surplus from 1974 (yes, 1974!) all brass cased. All of these round fired first time around, and I did not have a single misfeed or any ejection problems. I topped the rifle off with a Simmons 44 mag scope and high Warne permanent attach rings. The welded on scope rail is really nice. I think all PTR rifles should have them, otherwise you end up using a claw type clamp on style of scope mount. At 50 yards, even with the less than glamorous ammo I was using, I was drilling a 1" circle with no problems. At 100 yards, I was peppering them within a 3" group without a gun rest or bags. I'm sure this gun could do MUCH better at 100 yards with better ammo and once its broken in. This gun is solid, built like a tank. You REALLY need to read how to break it down and reassemble it before you just try to figure it out by yourself, especially the bolt assembly. The instruction manual that comes with it has really good instructions, additionally there are many informative videos online. This is a nice rifle to have if you want to be different in the midst of the AR popularity right now. If you reload, be advised that my rifle threw the brass about 30 feet, so you might want to track a few rounds by sight before you fire a lot of rounds. Also, the fluted chamber and the violent ejection really dent the brass up, but if you research it, most people seem to say it CAN be reloaded; I have not tried it, so I cannot comment as to it. Recoil is fairly mild, but you still know you have ahold of something heavier than 556. I love this gun!

Rifle is awesome, all HK accessories fit perfectly. Fit and finish we're good and shipping wasn't too bad. My only "problem" was that no magazine came with my rifle, a little disappointing, but HK surplus mags are plentiful and run cheap 3-8 bucks a pop for aluminum and steel. I had 6 on hand so no big deal. Still give it 5 stars alone for this amazing rifle. Just make sure you have a few mags on standby just in case you don't get a magazine either. Thanks buds for the awesome rifle.

Shot 1.5 MOA @ 100 yards with Eotech and surplus ammo. After 80 rounds, I love the rifle bit it's not as reliable as my DPMS AP4 308 with surplus ammo. It gets dirty a lot faster and needs lots of oil to run flawless. On the other hand, It's as acccurate or more accurate then my DPMS AP4 308. Both are great guns. Still need to pick up a FAL rifle and M1A before I pick my favorite.

Range report follow-up. Put 180 rounds thru it on 1st outing. Very hot OAT with temps near 100. Not one FTE or FTF. Ran it with American Eagle for the 1st 5 mags. I cleaned it after two mags and re-lubed with MILITEC as per label instructions. Then went to town. Purposely waited to put the worst ammo through it at the end when the rifle was very dirty. Ran 2 mags of DAG surplus and one mag of Brown Bear lacquered steel case. Not a hiccup. Clean up easy after MILITEC treatment. Iron sights outstanding and was able to get 1 MOA. Installed EOTEC with same results. Surplus alum mags were also flawless. What a SHTF rifle! Thanks again Buds!

Another flawless Buds transaction. Receiving inspection showed a well made rifle with an excellent, even finish. Mounting an EOTEC but the iron sights are excellent. Took the rifle completely down for inspection, cleaning & lube. Going to try out MILITEC lube for the 1st time. A word of advice: When taking down the bolt carrier, bolt & firing pin etc you might want to look at some excellent videos on YOUTUBE to assist you. Although the instructions in the pamphlet are useful the illustrations are not. Also the rifle is very tight which hinders disassembly/reassembly. Just hang in there, watch the videos and you'll be fine. Range report to follow.

Awesome rifle...a bit on the heavy side but with excellent finish and operation. This is the best HK91 copy you can get.
