I love this gun. It's one of my favorites. I've purchased three guns from Buds and every experience was superb. Highly recommended.

Solid firearm, shoots well and puts a niiiice hole in whatever is on the receiving end since it's a 44. Gun shoots well once you get the sight on and with very little recoil the gun is great for some range fun. Only issues are loading rounds and working the action slowly. The rims catch on the reciever when loading so you really have to jam them in there. And if youre being to "nice" to the gun she wont eject properly. As a hunting gun it wont matter but on the range it can get annoying having to jam every round in.

All in all if youre looking for a lever gun to fill that cowboy itch this is not a bad choice. Just treat the gun like a $700 gun not a $2000 gun and you'll be fine. This tool was made to take a beating so dont be afraid to rough it up.

Good gun. Treat it like a tool not an artifact. Run the action hard and she'll do whatever you ask. Worth the price.

shoots great nice brush gun

Was looking for a 1894 Marlin in 44 magnum. Could not find any local so I went on line to Buds Guns and there it was. This purchase went smoother than buying at a gun store. I cannot thank Buds enough for the expedience in processing my order. Placed the order Tuesday afternoon and my FFL dealer called Thursday morning advising my Marlin was there. Upon opening the box everything was perfect and in order. This gun is beautiful the walnut stock is perfect as is the forearm. The bluing is very nice also. Remington is getting it right. After a thorough cleaning I was off to the range. Sighted it at 50 yards and what a surprise. After a few fouling shots the gun shot less than a inch with some rounds touching the same hole. Was very happy with this gun and Buds made it happen. Thanks again to Buds and I will purchase from them from now on. It was that simple purchasing this gun from Buds. If anyone has any reservations about buying a gun on line take it from me go online like I did and in a matter on minutes I received my shipping confirmation from Buds.

I recently bought this Marlin 1894 in .44 mag., but wanted to wait until I actually shot it before presenting a review. Firstly Remington/Marlin has greatly improved these rifles over the early changeover days. The wood to metal fit is as good as an older JM Marlin and the action is as smooth as they have ever been. The Mar-Shield finish on the wood is not quite up to the old Marlin standard. I removed the front and rear sights and replaced them with a set of Williams fire-sights. At 63 the aperture rear and fiber optic front sights greatly improve my ability to stay with iron sights. I tried several brands of ammo, both lead and JHP and it fed everything very smoothly. I sighted in for at 50 yd shots which is where my rifle will see the most use on whitetail deer and I'll probably stay with Fiocchi 240gr. JHP ammo. I took one star off due to the wood finish, but honestly it has no ill effect on the performance of the rifle. Overall I'm very pleased with this rifle and of course, as always, with every transaction that I've ever made through Bud's.

Great fun too shoot smooth action good accuracy

Just purchased the Marlin 44 mag lever action. Great experience. Essy order process. Quick processing and shipment. Received the gun within 5 days of processing without a hitch. Beautiful gun. Wood was darker than expected, which was a pleasent surprise, if you like that dark rich look. Wood to frame fit is excellent. Can't wait to give it a good work out.

The first Marlin 1894 Buds sent was a Lemon, the action was jammed up and could not be operated with the lever. I called Buds immediately and didn't accept the rifle from my FFL DEALER and He talked to Buds and got it shipped back. It took almost 2 weeks to get a replacement but this one I looked over with a magnifying glass! It had a beautiful black walnut stock and fore grip and functioned flawlessly. I even brought some ammo to cycle through it to make sure it worked! If you ever get a firearm and it's not to your expectations or is scratched or something's wrong DONT ACCEPT THE FIREARM AND CALL BUDS, They Will Make it Right!

Love this rifle but be wary about what size projectile you use ! First 50 rounds of store bought (Freedom Arms) was giving me about 10" groups at 25ft. After getting proper sized slugs my reloads are as accurate as I can be. Just love lever actions but wish Marlin would change the rifling.
