Just bought this gun from Bud's. Great service and a lifetime waranntee. The gun shoots like a dream. I fired 2.5 " slugs out of it , not bad recoil nice flame out of the barrel to scare the bad guy, muzzle velocity 1850. where are you going to get this kind of knock down power? not from a 44 mag ! I was thinking of getting of getting a Ruger super red hawk 2" . Instead bought the Judge 3". I intend to fire 3 " 1/4 ounce rifled slugs out of it. Also you can't beat Bud's prices. Bud's sells to the public cheaper than the gun shop can buy it from the wholesalers.This gun and Bud's overall is a grand slam. Accurate as heck to.

Perfect size gun small and compacted..its the matt black witch i loved. Came in reg. Taurus cardboard box.had a front sight protector on it when i opened it so it wont be damaged during transfer.has orange fiber optic front sight,will maybe find front nightsight or change to green or yellow fiber optic.the trigger on double action is smooth all the way threw.but when its in single action the trigger is almost all the way back it shocked my buddies how light it was and small of a squeeze it took to fire it.. its almost there with my 1911 trigger(SingleAction)...and Grips are nice ,feels good in the hands.bought it thursday got it monday evening arrived 3 hours early. Witch was great.and IT IS better looking then on picture with the matt black finish.i picked black because its a carry with me gun & in truck, etc. Not worried about scratches nor wearmarks.i know if i take good care of it..(cleaning/lubeing etc)it will take care of me!

Bought the Public Defender as a conceal carry weapon. Seems like a very well built, solid revolver. Took it to the range where i ran some .410 #6 birdshot, .410 PDX self defense rounds, and some .45 colt ammo through it. The revolver handled all these rounds very well and it shoots surprisingly accurate despite only having a 2.5" barrel. The recoil is not as bad as I thought it would be, but it does kick pretty good whether you're shooting .410 or .45 colt ammo. The only thing I am thinking about changing is the grips, I have some big hands and the stock grips are OK, just think slightly larger grips would help manage the recoil and help with the accuracy a bit. Overall I really like the Public Defender, it cycled through all the ammo I put through it without any problems and it's fun to shoot.

I received a Taurus 4510PD-3B M4510 Public Defender 5RD 2" barrel 410ga/45LC 2.5" chamber as a gift from my brother a few years ago. It's now my favorite self-defense handgun. I like it so much I purchased two of them at Bud's Guns. Although the ones I received are flat black finish, unlike the shiny black finish in the photo on the site, they are the same pistols. This pistol is great for home defense & auto defense. I have even carried it concealed without a problem. One thing to note while carrying concealed if using the .410 shotgun shells, one would need to be cautious of the pattern to be sure one wouldn't accidentally shoot bystanders. When using the Winchester PDX1 I found a pattern of about 12" diameter at 15 feet. The pistol also holds .45 LC, which might be a better choice when carrying concealed. It's my understanding that this particular model is no longer manufactured by Taurus, so get one, or two or more while you can. You won't regret it. The service at Bud's is the best anywhere on the web.
