Bought the rifle for use on the ranch and to carry in the Ranger UTV. The rifle is very light and appears to be durable which I wanted. But the stock is really poor. Yes, the barrel is free-floated but the forend is very flimsy. Will it work? Probably. I'm waiting for my Leupold scope to arrive to find out how well it shoots. The bolt release on the rifle is so hard to depress it will need to be modified to be usable. I found that the action locked up okay but the machined parts of the action had very sharp edges and it appears no attempt was made to deburr or relieve the edges. I took a light stone to them and could fix most of them with very little effort, so why can't the factory do the same. This does not speak well for Ruger workmanship regardless of the price. It is enough of an issue that I probably will not buy another Ruger product. This rifle is targeted for one thing: low cost compared to the competition. If the Rem 700's weren't junk today I would have bought the comparable rifle in that line. My overall impression of the rifle is satisfactory for its intended purpose if it shoots well. This rifle would be far better with a laminated wood stock but you get what you pay for here. Bud's service was good as always and the rifle arrived very quickly. If you want a truck rifle or one to carry on the ranch/farm, you may like this one.

Fast shipping from Buds, rifle is well made with typical Ruger toughness and quality. Prices have gone up due to COVID but was worth the extra money in my view. I love that it takes AR mags, comes with one 10 round Magpul PMAG, lightweight option, compact carbine.

Another flawless transaction with Buds Gun Shop. Unbelievably fast shipping. Love the Buds team. The rifle has the same quality you would expect from Ruger. I have only put about 2 dozen rounds thru it and it is definitely a champ. I have several Ruger products and have never been disappointed. Thanks again to everyone at Buds. Mike

Very impressed. I researched this rifle, felt like it was what I wanted. It is a great rifle, at least for my purposes. It will take the place of my lever guns for a truck gun, here in the country. Very handy, maneuverable, accurate.

Ruger makes great products. Too bad they let you overcharge for them.

I purchased the Ruger American Ranch in 5.56 a week ago. I installed a scope of of another rifle and only took a few rounds to site it n. The firearm is deadly accurate. Sixteen rounds and sixteen bulls eyes. It can not get any better than that. All of my AR magazines fit and work properly. The bolt was stiff and did not slide smoothly. After about 100 rounds it is working a lot smoother and at that rate it should be better as time goes on. I did not adjust the trigger but I can live with the factory setting.
This is a fun rifle to shoot and I am looking foreword to feeding it a lot more of my reloads. I would recommend the to anyone. The price point is great, it looks and feels great.
Again the best part is that it will accept ALL types of AR magazines. This is the main reason I bought it.

For me this gun does exactly what I want it to. For the most part it is a good solid rifle. The bolt has a little more slop in it than I would like compared to my rem. 700%u2019s. That said, it has always cycled correctly, and has yet to let me down. For me this gun is strictly for hog hunting at night and will only have a thermal on it. Good gun, good price, made in USA.

This thing has been a Tank. I use it on a daily basis as I’m a trapper for a living and it has rode In the truck or 4 wheeler every day of the week. It’ll shoot clover leaf holes if not same hole at 100 yards. It’s always up to the task when I grab it to put work in. Highly recommend this rifle. It does wear a suppressor everyday and with the 16.5” barrel it keeps it short and handy enough to maneuver around. Thanks Buds for another easy transaction !!

Cheap, cheap, cheap if you want chinese quality stamped made in USA than this gun is for you. Took this gun out of the box and put this gun together and the mag is 1/8 into the bolts pathway so the bolt can't seat and lock down with the empty mag in, The plastic looks like recycled milk jugs, the bolt at max extension for cartridge ejection is floppy and loose if your looking for a follow up shot that's quick your not going to get it. The button for bolt extraction for cleaning is really cheap and takes alot of force to get it to allow bolt removal. Can't say anything about accuracy as it can't be fired as is. If you want to get a new gun that has to be sent back to the manufacturer than buy a Ruger. This is my second Ruger in 5 years and both had to go back to Ruger because they were defective an Sp-101 357 that the cylinder wasnt calibrated to barrel and this Ranch 223. When it comes back from Ruger it's going to get sold to my gunshop in exchange for something worth shooting...
