Ruger American Predator 6.5 Grendel Bolt Action Rifle - Blue/Black, 22" Barrel, 10 Rounds, Synthetic, Moss Green Composite Stock

Bought the Ruger American Predator 6.5 Grendel after seeing many positive reviews on their accuracy.I really wanted to like the rifle & it operated fine & looked good however accuracy was terrible with my model. Tried every 6.5 Grendel ammo I could get my hands on tried lot's of match ammo as well and it wouldn't shoot under 1.5" at 100 yards with anything and some groups were nearly 4" several other shooters tried it and everyone agreed it shot poorly. Lightened the trigger, made sure the barrel was free floated 100% & stiffened the forearm nothing could get this rifle to shoot any better. Took the rifle to a renowned gunsmith & he was disappointed in the rifles barrel & chamber so I traded it off & moved on.

Great gun for price. Getting 1 Moa out of box with wolf ammo. Haven’t even shot 100 rounds yet,very common for two Bullet holes touching. Fun gun!

Ordered this rifle as I was looking for a rifle in 6.5 Grendel. Bud's shipped it and it arrived at my FFL in less than a week. The action was a little rough at first but smoothed out after 25 rounds or so. As far as accuracy goes, this rifle has it. Once I got the scope dialed in I was able to put three rounds on paper with the holes touching at 100 yards. That was using a sling sitting at a table. Rifle is very accurate. Ammo is not expensive and rifle functioned flawlessly. I would recommend this product and Bud's to anyone.

As usual the order process went smoothly. Rifle arrived in good shape, but was packaged with a 5.56 magazine instead of a 6.5 Grendel magazine. A call to Ruger cleared this issue up quickly. Mounted a Leupold Tri-Moa scope in Weaver Grand Slam rings. After bore sighting walked rounds onto target at 100 yards with three shots. Using Hornady 123 grain SST ammunition first two three shot groups measured 5/8ths inch, each. Rifle looks like it has potential. Trigger came from factory set at 4 pounds. Probably needs a slight adjustment prior to working up a handload for deer hunting. Well satisfied with Buds, Ruger, the rifle and scope. Gave it a four out of five for being shipped with the wrong magazine.

All in all this is a great rifle. I sighted it in using handloads on Christmas Eve and took a nice little 7pt whitetail Christmas day. This is the easiest shooting rifle I have ever shot. No recoil, .75"-1" groups at 100yds all day. My only complaints are that you have to put a little more force into working the bolt to feed a round. This may be due to the magazine spring needing to be wore in. The bolt is a bit wobbly when working the action also (more just a fit and finish issue). Accuracy is not a problem though. This thing is a shooter!

this gun worked great right out of the box. I have afew ruger americans but this one put less than 1" groups 100yds. and I must say bud's have steped up their service a lot. thank you

I bought this rifle for a junior shooter because of it’s weight, recoil, and for it’s accuracy for a new shooter. It surely lived up to its name

This rifle has it's plus's and minus's. On the plus side; It takes AR mags, is hunting accurate, nice tang saftey, adjustable trigger and threaded barrel. Negatives; Ruger took an existing rifle and modified the bolt and mag well to fit a shorter cartridge. There's a lot of magazine play front to back and rough feeding [ don't use soft point bullets]. Too bad Ruger didn't shorten the action to fit the family of short cartridges like Howa did with their Mini .

With such a high demand item (at least when I ordered it), I was a patient guy. I'm glad, cause though it was said to have been in stock, it did take 10 days to ship. No matter, it arrived in perfect condition and lives up to its reputation for accuracy. I also have a CZ 527 in the same caliber. The CZ still will out shoot this, but only by a little. It is not broken in and is now shooting small groups with the factory Hornady 123 grain SST load. It also does better than the CZ with the Wolf 100 grain load. It is bigger and perhaps more heavy than it needs to be. I could have gotten a 6.5 Creedmoor with nearly the same gun. We wanted the soft shooting 6.5 Grendel because of the cheap Wolf ammo. We were easily able to hit steel targets at 505 yards. Nice gun and it'll be on the Mule for coyotes soon.
