Ruger's American Rifle offers minute-of-angle accuracy that can make every hunt a success. The one-piece, three-lug bolt with 70 degree throw provides ample scope clearance and utilizes a full diameter bolt body and dual cocking cams for smooth, easy cycling. Its patent-pending Power Bedding, integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver and free-floats the barrel for outstanding accuracy. The ergonomic, lightweight synthetic stock with soft rubber buttpad is designed for quick, easy handling and blends a classic look with modern forend contouring and grip serrations. The American Rifle also has a Ruger Marksman adjustable trigger, cold hammer-forged barrel, and a tang safety. This Standard model is chambered in 30-06 Springfield and has a 22" cerakote bronze barrel and a Go Wild IM Brush camo synthetic stock.

I haven't had the pleasure of firing this awesome looking rifle Ruger American 30-06 Go Wild Camo w/bronze cerakote finish. I did notice however that the "floating" barrel isn't floating. There appears to be contact between the end of the stock with the end of the barrel on one side...looks like a modification needs to be done in taking a dremel or sand paper to contour down the stock so it won't be rubbing against the barrel. Ive also noticed.. this is a bit common, considering I've seen on Youtube others who have purchased the American commented it throwing off their aim and was remedied by wittling down the stock due to slight pressure on the barrel resulting in vibration? So..Ruger needs to be a bit more diligent in quality control. As noted Im going to go ahead and fire the rifle before I do any sanding to see for myself if it in fact poses a problem. Will update as soon as I accomplish this.

I was familiar with the Ruger American Line and chose this rifle for the added features of the cerakote for weather resistance and the muzzle brake. Buds was fantastic as usual. Very fast processing and turn around time. Ordered Sunday, my FFL had it ready for pick up Wednesday. I topped the rifle with the Vortex Crossfire II 4x12x44 . It was a little snug during the dollar bill free float test. I removed the stock, lightly filed the stock, and in seconds its fine. I am writing this after 4 trips to the range. After a quick 6 shot zero it was on, and I mean ON. Shooting off of the bag, holes were touching with with CoreLokt Remington 180 gr. and shots were same holed multiple times with the 178 gr. Hornady Precision ELD-X. Every group with the exception of 1 was sub MOA at 200 yards. The gun is a tack driver. If groups start opening up I will blame my ability, the ammo, the scope, and then the gun.... in that order.

Picked up at buds gun shop after a near 90 day layaway which was a great option for me!Out of the box looked great and feels great.No scratch's or dings.Love the look and feel of the gun. Purchase a 6x8x44 vortex scope with weaver steel rings.They mounted great on the factory scope base.Very happy with the cerakote bronze finish along with go wild CAMO.I liked the butt stock limb like saver.Shoots great!The muzzle brake was loose but was easy tighten into position.I looking forward to some more long range shooting!
