This 450 has truly met my expectations for whitetail deer hunting. I appreciate its accuracy and dependable performance in the field. I've only ever needed a single round to harvest my target. Its design even allows for comfortable one-handed carry, and the quick disassembly of key components makes cleaning a breeze. The recoil is very manageable. This gun has proven to be the perfect choice for my first rifle.

This rifle is a deer hammer have shot three bucks with this rifle only one took another step went 30 yards shot the rifle out to 200 yards very accurate

Only been through a box of ammo but once I figured out qhere I was hitting at 34 yards I was hitting hole after hole. Going to shoot at 84 yards this weekend to see if it's properly sighted in deer season.

Very happy with the Ruger American 450 Bushmaster with the Go Wild Camo. The finish on the gun is very nice and pairs well with the camo pattern. I did have a concern about recoil in my general research on 450 Bushmasters. The muzzle brake does a nice job of reducing recoil on this gun. I would compare the recoil to a muzzleloader with 3 pellets. I feel the recoil is less than my sons Savage 220. I did purchase a Ruger Sled to make it legal for deer hunting in Illinois. I would purchase again without hesitation.

Great hunting rifle when you pair it with a good quality scope. Wish the magazine capacity were a little higher but otherwise it's a great gun. I do recommend buying a recoil pad for it, though, because it kicks like a mule with that .450 Bushmaster round in it, especially if you're using 250 grain or higher.

Bought for deer hunting in Ohio. After putting on a scope and zeroing it I used it to dispatch 2 coyotes who were stalking my goats and cattle. 1 was 100 meters, 2nd was about 200-250 meters. The rifle is lightweight and short which I find a plus when using a treestand or ladder stand. Trigger is crisp. I had a gunsmith lighten the pull a tad. Sadly, one of my sons "borrowed" it to go deer hunting. He bagged 2 and I haven't seen the rifle since.
