Unfortunately no, this is not new York compliant because of the threaded barrel. All hipoint carbines now come with a threaded barrel. Sorry but hope this helps.

Kevin, all Hi-Point carbines come with threaded barrels, so removing the fin won't help you. It is CA compliant with the threaded barrel.

Unfortunately all hipoint carbines come standard with a threaded barrel. The paddle don't believe is removable but from the looks of it it's made of rubber and could possibly be cut off. Hope this helps

You can remove and replace the entire pistol grip. But the fin doesn't come off by itself.

The 995 I bought is high efficiently designed, not bulky, and is well balanced to citing and practice. The rifle performs amazingly smooth and on target within popular specs.

I recently received the 995TSCA (CA compliant version as I live in NJ). It shoots great. I did add on a Predator V1 red dot and the forward folding grip to it and these add-on helped to make it more enjoyable to shoot as well as make it more visually appealing. I may be moving out of NJ and would love to know how hard it would to remove the fin grip as it seems to be held on with 3 bolts that have a phillips head on them.

I bought the 995ts carbine and its awesome, kinda heavy & might even be ugly to some of you, but after putting some inexpensive mods to it & adjusting the scope & laser, this is so dam accurate & very fun to shoot... buy one before ya cant ,,,
