If you can't afford the custom shop model this is the next best thing. I would say it's at least 85% of what the custom shop model is. Having owned both and shot both of these weapons long-term here's my take on comparing them. The trigger on the custom shot model is definitely better feeling but this one is no slouch. A bit longer but not any heavier. The brake and reset of the custom shop model is a bit better and more crisp but this one is no slouch. Surprisingly the slide to frame fit on this weapon is scary close to the custom shop model but not exactly the same. In my hands to Custom Shop model is definitely more accurate and groups tighter as I would expect. I can get the barrel bushing out of this one with my fingers where I need a bushing wrench on the custom shop model. Both have been completely reliable and have digested thousands of rounds of Target ammunition, and several hundred rounds of hollow point defensive ammunition with no malfunctions. Granted I am utilizing Wilson etm plus P magazines and have switched my recoil spring to an 18 lb unit as the custom model ships with. The finish on both guns are not the most durable and that includes the custom shop model. It's not much better than the finish on this one in regards to holding up. With that said neither weapon has developed any form of rust or corrosion as a result. The custom shop model utilizes a true combat sight picture sighted in to the center dot on the front sight. This particular weapon is sighted in with a 6:00 hold which I do not care for so if that matters to you just be aware of it. You might want to use a drop of Loctite on your grip screws also because as is the case with every Springfield 1911 I've ever owned they like to come loose. Also you might want to stake your grip screw bushings so they don't come loose. The trp bushings are not staked the custom shop model was. Overall fit and finish is actually pretty darn good considering it's less than half the price of the Custom Shop model and gets you remarkably close to the same level of quality for that money. These guns do have a little bit of hand-fitting in them and it's noticeable both in feel and function. It's remarkable that they have put this much detail into putting these guns together considering all the more they cost. All in all I would definitely buy this gun again. This is a very nice weapon for the money.

I owned one of these before and unfortunately I sold it 8 years ago and regretted it every day since. I always wanted another one and this price along with Same as Cash 90 Days financing, well how can you say no to that! Gun is beyond awesome as was Bud’s. Super fast shipping and had it to my FFL and in my hands two days after I bought it online. Highly recommend this gun and Buds!

Everything was really good, ordering was easy, shipping was good, on my SF 1911A1 TRP .45ACP 5FNS ! On my first to the range at 20 yards right out of the box, I was shooting small groups, sights were right on. This is the best handgun I have ever put in my hand!
I definitely recommend Bud's Gun Shop for price, service, and quality product!

Wonderful pistol! Accurate, reliable and dependable. This pistol is tight! When shake in the hand there is absolutely no rattle whatsoever. You will need a bushing wrench for disassembly that was not provided. The only thing about my particular TRP was that it is the first one I have seen that looks like it has more of a parkerized finish. It doesn't have the glossy Armorykote look. It is, I have checked and tested it, but it looks almost like, well, parkerized. More of a dull finish and not a semigloss dark black. Does not effect how it shoots and the finish durability seems excellent. Overall I would highly recommend this pistol for anyone who wants a pistol, with quality and detail that is much better than "factory" pistols, without having to go all out on an expensive custom! Bud's, as usual, exceeded my expectations with my purchase. When I am looking for a firearm, I check Bud's first!
