I bought two of these at the same time. One worked perfectly and the other had a serious issue when it was dry fired. I had to send it back twice to S and W for repair before they finally took care of it.

Decent little DA only revolver for concealed carry. A little snappy with P ammo but shoots at point of aim at 10 yards. Typical S&W quality. Long trigger but as expected from a J Frame. Nice gun I carry it as a BUG every day.

Great little revolver and, while I can understand doubts about .38 special as a defensive round, I feel confident that this gun will go bang with every trigger pull. Personally, I've never experienced an issue with a Smith & Wesson firearm, before, and this was no exception. I've put a few hundred rounds through this one using a few different brands of ammunition and it worked every time. It's far lighter than I was anticipating and that's felt in the recoil (which is to be expected), but I can quickly shove this into a coat pocket or larger pants pocket and forget that it's there. Despite being light, the construction seems solid and, while I wouldn't want to toss it around, I feel like it will hold up to regular usage. So long as you're comfortable with five shots, I think you'd be happy with this guy (just grab some speed loaders or strips while checking out).

Aside from the grips being somewhat skimpy in my opinion, this revolver performs well. Ran some P rounds through it, with no issues. The DAO trigger pull isn’t excessive in length, and is moderate in weight. The overall weight is also minimal, due to the polymer/alloy construction. The addition of Hogue grips improves the feel and handling dramatically, and the top mounted cylinder latch makes for easy and ambidextrous loading and unloading. Excellent value for the price!

I love my 38! It is an awesome little weapon.
