Excellent rifle, solid and ergonomic. I added a 3x9x32 and the results are commendable.

It pains me to say this because I've always been a Savage fan, but it seams they are getting sloppy. Picked us an Axis 270 last year with a bad magazine right out of the box. Bought a new magazine and went on. Just bought this 30-06 and left it at the Ffl, so he could mount a scope on it for me. He called back to let me know that holes were tapped slightly off. He was able to get me set with some Smith work, which again I paid. I didn't send either back to Savage because it was small issues not worth the hassle and I was getting prepared for a hunt in both cases. I hope Savage gets it together again. For the 1st time ever, my next rifle likely won't be a Savage. Disappointed with Savage. Buds however, always the very BEST!
