Compact You can check out any gun by its model or SKU number to find what model it actually is. https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/mp-m20-compact The numbers may be off from their site so this gun might be a newer or older model as the 1st 3 digits or 116 are what designates SW 2.0 compacts same gun though. You may want to ask SW 1st. To know which is the newest model. Stay Safe!

Compact, S&W delineates models by the size of the grip frame not barrel length. There are compact models in 3.6", 4", and 4.625" barrels.

Looking for something lighter than my Beretta 92fs..

David, this has a unloaded weight of 25.9 Oz's, or 1.619 pounds. I agree with Christopher about the sig p365 xl. I own a 365xl and it quickly became my every day Carry. It's small enough to conceal but big enough to get a good grip on it. Hope this helps and good luck with your choice.

Yes but you'd need to either get the slide milled, or get a dovetail optic mount (which i don't recommend) dovetail mounts are not as durable or secure. Slide milling is a much better option. I would have the work done by John at Maple leaf arms in Houston Texas. I've been in contact with him about getting my MP Milled, just been busy trying to keep my head above water. Does the grip have room for the pinky? If not, can you buy an extension? This looks like just what I want, but I do want a full grip. I am a little leery about clips other than OEM. Thanks

Morris, it does have a manual thumb safety, verified on the S&W web site. The pistol includes an aggressively-textured grip and four interchangeable palmswell inserts for optimal hand-fit and trigger reach. Includes two magazines, a limited lifetime warranty and a lifetime service policy.

Isaiah, this pistol this comes in a hard plastic case, owners manual, warranty registration card (2) 15rd Magazines, cable lock, bore brush, orange plastic chamber blocker and Four Palmswell Grip Inserts.

Comes with the S&W case (which appears to be the S&W Factory cardboard box since November 2018) , 2 mags, manual, registration, lock, chamber flag and four different grip inserts to allow you to customize the grip to your preference. Pretty nice package!

It's a great pistol! I've shot around 2k shots through it with no jams or issues. It's nice that it comes with different palm grips for various sized hands! Only minor complaint is stripping/disassembly is not as simple as other pistols in the same price range.

This is my FAVORITE pistol to carry. Although I also own the S&W M&P 2.0 COMPACT with 3.6" barrel (that holds 15 rounds), the SHIELD has a smaller 8 round magazine, that is far easier on the waistline to carry. Adding a CTC Green Laserguard that has "instinctive activation" makes it ever better. Large enough to shoot accurately, small enough to not make carrying for long period uncomfortable.
