Heizer PKO 45 45 Automatic Colt Pistol (ACP) Single 2.75 5+1 Black - Blue/Black, 2.75" Barrel, 5 Rounds, Polymer Grips, 3-Dot Sights

When I first learned about Heizer and their “Pocket Shotgun” or “Pocket AR/AK,” I had to check it out. Little did I know, I would travel down the rabbit hole and find this beauty of a beast: The Heizer PKO-45. No joke, when I first saw this handgun on Buds, I said to myself, “That’s an M6D Pistol!” and boy, doesn’t it shoot just like it. (Well, maybe not just like it... since it’s in Halo, you know?) Just like my review of the Chiappa Rhino, this handgun is built differently. To start, the super-low bore makes handling the ‘GOD CALIBER’ that much easier. The forward grip trigger release is a great spin on the 1911/Glock backstrap grip safety. Field stripping is a breeze; no twister to pull this thing apart for cleaning. All the controls fit nicely into my hands, and I have rather large hands. Being the world’s thinnest .45 ACP handgun, it slips right into the pocket, albeit a bit heavy. However, that weight is a beautifully machined pistol that slides so smoothly. Now, with all firearms, this is going to take some practice. This is a carry gun and not a plinker. It might rattle you around a bit, but keep at it; trust me. One negative point is the use of custom 1911 magazines. Heizer probably should’ve just left the single-stack 1911 magazine alone on this one. It makes it sort of hard to find PKO magazines. Luckily for me, my order came with a five-rounder, an extended grip seven-rounder, and a nice pouch to hold everything together. Anyway, remember folks, just because it looks different doesn’t mean it’s bad. On the contrary, this is a well-crafted firearm that is great to shoot, carry, and show off to your nerdy friends. And when you “need a Weapon,” reach out and grab this one.
