Rifle arrived at my FFL in a box in perfect condition but the stock was split in two places. I’m putting the action in a chassis and I didn’t want to wait another month for Bud’s to ship me a replacement so I accepted the transfer and will eat the hundred bucks I would’ve sold the stock for. I can’t blame Bud’s because I went through with the transfer instead of sending it back (although I would have if I thought it wouldn’t take a month to receive a replacement) but it’s completely unacceptable that CZ would sell a rifle in this condition.

I’ve had this rifle for a while. The wood looks great on mine. Out of the box, the bolt action is smooth. The trigger feels really good as well. It’ll be difficult to find a better value and accuracy in this price range. The only other rifle that I own that is this accurate in .22lr is a Browning T Bolt. It’s equal in performance to the CZ457. Both rifles have beautiful stocks, but the Browning is a bit nicer and has a comb that surpasses the CZ. If you can’t find a CZ457 I’d suggest the Browning T Bolt. You could do what I did and buy both. You can’t go wrong either way. Ruger and Tikka are excellent rifles, but they’re not up to the CZ and Browning accuracy and beauty. They’ll do fine though. CZ has a great aftermarket for the CZ457. Browning doesn’t have much aftermarket, but the Browning is my personal pick over the CZ. They are both unbeatable in the sub $700 price range. If you pay with electronic check through Bud’s, you’ll save a little extra money. It’ll take a little longer to receive the rifle, but to me, the savings is worth it.

Good accurate .22lr, I'm getting 1" or less at 50yards with CCI standard velocity, plan on testing some other ammo soon. My favorite .22 in the stable at the moment.

As always, Buds made my purchase quick and easy. My CZ 457 varmint in 22 lr has a smooth bolt throw and is very accurate. I tried six different loads ranging from Remington Thunderbolt to Eley match and this gun shot them all reliably and accurately . Federal Automatch was the most accurate on this day with three 5 shot 50 yards groups that averaged .4 in. At 100 yards the groups opened up to slightly over 1 in, but I thought this was extremely good considering the gusty winds. Finally, in this age of plastic stocks, CZ supplied this rifle with a beautiful walnut stock that makes this rifle stand out in the crowd. If you want an accurate 22 lr that looks great, buy this CZ!

This cz 457 varment is one of the classiest rifles I own. Loves sk ammunition and shoots great. Easy purchase from buds and supper fast ship. Won't be the last I buy.

I really like my CZ 457 Varmint rifle. Will use it to teach my grandchildren and great grandchildren firearm safety and fun target shooting. Highly recommend this rifle. Quality workmanship and decent price.

Bud’s is excellent to purchase from. I get ammo and firearms from them just because if the timely and super service. My CZ 457 Varmint is an awesome and handsome shooter. 20” barrel is nice. Half inch groups out of the box at 50 yds. Athlon 4x12x40 scope. Awesome is what i have to say. Quality gun for reasonable price.

Great accurate out of the box rifle. The turkish walnut is dark and beautiful. For $600 i would take this over any other rifle in its price range. i.e. Bergara b14R or heck i would take this over the anschultz. My ecpectation for anschultz would be virtually unrealistic for what they demand $4k plus, and i would out shoot anyone at the club with my 457 varmint
