Remington Ammunition HTP .38 Spc +P 158 GR Lead Hollow Point (LHP)0 Bx/5 Cs - Brass Casing

This load is so nostalgic for me. The classic "FBI load" and the round that ended the infamous 1986 Miami-Dade shootout. In my assessment, I found the 158 grain LSWCHP loaded by Remington to P level and loaded into nice, shiny Nickel plated cases, to be very good. It was very accurate in my 4" Tracker at 10 yards, and hit very close to point-of-aim. The soft lead nose lends itself well to expansion, but isn't driven too fast, so things like fragmentation and shallow penetration are of little to no concern. The price is right, the recoil is also very mild and the only negative that causes me to deduct a star from this product is that since it is a bare, soft lead construction, it does generate quite a bit more smoke than typical JHP's. That could be a problem for self defense scenarios, especially in confined areas, wherewith could limit visibility.

These rounds shoot well in my S&W 642 without any issues. They are fairly clean shooting and are accurate.
