Ok since it's been the better part of a year since I received this 10-22, I feel like I can leave an honest review that has some meat on it. First, the service from Buds. What can I say about that? It has always been top-notch. I'm not sure how many firearms I've now purchased from Buds (literally just ordered another one yesterday), but the service is always great. They keep me posted as the order is received, processed, and shipped. Communication with Buds is excellent. Shipping is FAST. On a scale of 1-10 for service, I give Buds an 11.
The rifle. The stock on this one was atrocious, but I knew that going into the deal. All I wanted was a blue barreled-action with a factory contour barrel that was threaded so I could mount a can without having to get a smith to thread my barrel. I already had a nice OD green Hogue stock for it, so the abomination of the factory stock literally lasted less than 10 minutes after I got the rifle home. The factory stock now sits in the back corner of a storage room in my garage, while the nice overmolded stock from Hogue is happily in place. As far as function, it's a Ruger 10-22. They just work. Every. Time.
I used the factory supplied rail adapter and Vortex rings to mount a Nikon ProStaff 3-9x40 bdc scope on it and with CCI MiniMags (36gr), it will put 3-shot groups through a single hole at 50m THROUGH THE FACTORY BARREL. This rifle is the 4th 10-22 in my collection and it's been my experience that the factory Ruger barrels seem to work best with MiniMags from CCI. They have proven (to me...) to be the most accurate and most consistent ammo through factory Ruger barrels. I took this rifle prairie dog hunting this last May in SW Kansas just as the babies were getting their first time up on the mounds and was super impressed with its performance.
Overall: I rated it 5 stars only because I couldn't rate it 6 stars.
