Ruger American Predator Left Hand 7mm-08 Remington Bolt Action Rifle - 4+1 Rounds | 22" Barrel | Green Stock | Synthetic | Blue/Black

We wanted a 7mm-08 "Left Handed" bolt action with a threaded barrel for my grandsons first deer rifle (12 years old). We were very happy with the accuracy of the rifle right out of the box using Hornady 139 grn Whitetail Interlocks. The action works smoothly and the magazine feeds well. We adjusted the Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger to 3.5 pounds for a smooth trigger pull. We Installed a Nikon Prostaff Rifle Scope 3-9x40 using 201M Warne 1 inch, PA, Medium Matte Rings on the Factory-installed, one-piece Picatinny scope base. This seems to be an inexpensive but solid setup. To make my grandsons shooting/hunting more enjoyable I leave him use my Griffin Armament PALADIN® HD .300 silencer. This helps reduce felt recoil, noise and flinching. The Hornady rounds were a little hard on his houlder so I made up some reduced loads for him (38 grns IMR3031 under a 120 grn Nosler Ballistic Tip). He's now 13 and has made four 'one shot' kills on deer. (Two were around 200 yards). He dead holds on all of his shots so we were surprised how flat this caliber shoots. We were very thankful for the 'free shipping" when we bought it and how well BUDS coummunicated with us and our FFL Dealer. Overall we are very happy with the purchase of this Ruger American Predator rifle from BUDS.
