This Walther Hammerli Tac R1 rifle is phenomenal and offers shooters the look, feel, and manual of arms of a standard AR-15 pattern rifle in the larger calibers. However, with this model being chambered in .22 LR, it is ideal for plinking, teaching a young one how to shoot, or hunting. This chambering is also excellent as it allows you to scratch that itch of plinking without the cost as .22 LR is inexpensive. This model features a 16'' barrel that is incredibly accurate. Also featured on this model is a 13'' M-LOK rail that is ready to accept any accessories of your choosing. Other standard features include a 20rd magazine, MFT Minimalist adjustable stock, and flip-up iron sights. This model is also optics ready.

A:Robert, yes sir, this will work fine with both 36gr and 40gr ammo. As with any firearm especially 22lr firearms can be picky about ammo. I could have the same exact firearm that likes blazer ammo and could jam every other round in your's. So my best advice would be to try several different brands in different grains and see what it likes best. If interested here's a link to a bulk pack of 36gr Remington golden bullet ammo Wich I've tried in several firearms with good results.............................. https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/147399/remington+ammunition+21250+golden+bullet+22+lr+36+gr+hollow+point+hp+525+bx+12+cs ............................. A good 40 grain option is cci mini mag Wich I've also had good luck with in pretty much every 22lr I've shot it in, Link here if interested........................... https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/63200/cci+.22+lr+40+gr+mini+mag+round+nose+0030+100+round+box .............,......... A:Kevin, this rifle is made in Germany by Umarex. Umarex is part of the Carl Walther group of companies and, just like Hammerli, specializes in air rifles and rimfires. Umarex adquired Hammerli in 2006.See 1 more answer |
While it looks like it has standard AR controls, some of them function differently. The safety can be engaged whether or not the hammer is cocked. The bolt does lock back on an empty magazine, but the bolt stop is just for show. To release the bolt after you’ve reloaded, you’ll have to work the charging handle.
One of the neat features of this rifle is the adjustable gas system. The TAC R1 22 allows you to tweak your rifle if it isn’t cycling properly with ammo you’d like to use.
The trigger breaks at around 8.5lbs, and it will not take a standard AR trigger group, in case you’re hoping to swap it out.
The barrel has a medium contour and is tipped with a birdcage flash hider attached via common 1/2x28 threads, so you can attach a muzzle device if you like.
The upper and lower receivers are both aluminum, as is the free-float lightweight 13-inch handguard..

A:Hi Bob, unfortunately the answer is no. The gun is configured for .22lr only, it is not like your standard AR-15 where parts can be swapped out.See 2 more answers |

A:Christopher, yes because this is a 22lr it is Massachusetts compliant. Rimfire rifles dont have the same restrictions as center fire calibers. Unfortunately the 20 round magazine is not. During checkout buds will have an option to remove the magazine but they wont replace it. So you will have to purchase a state compliant 10rd magazine separately. I have been debating on buying one of these for awhile, out of all of the 22lr AR-15s I like this one the best. Hope this helps. Link to Massachusetts restrictions here.........https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/massachusetts_restrictions.pdfSee 3 more answers | -

A:Absolutely nothing but magazine capacity. This one has a 20 round magazine. The more expensive model has a 10 round magazine for state compliance. Other than that they are identical. Hope this helps.See 1 more answer | - Show More Questions
