Savage Arms 110 High Country 6.5 PRC Bolt Action Rifle - 24" Barrel, 2 + 1 Rounds, Synthetic Stock

I own several Savage rifles and they all shoot bug holes @ 100yds. This rifle was a little more particular but after tweaking my load and adjusting the seating depth using a bullet comparator I shot 2 groups @ 100yds one measured .283 and the second .280. I have a Leupold MkIV 6x20 scope deadly combination. I have taken one mule deer in Wyoming and some nice whitetail deer here in Alabama with this rifle. It's a keeper!

I wanted a shooter and that’s exactly what I got!! I ended up putting some really decent glass on it and couldn’t be happier with the setup!! Absolutely love the caliber and with the brake the recoil is very minor!! Bud’s again another flawless transaction!!

After throwing a quality scope on it, this rifle became my favorite big game rifle, albeit a bit heavy. It's a well-engineered rifle. Love the trigger, action and barrel, as well as various cheek pad options so you can tailor the rifle to suit you.

I'm very pleases with this rifle. Following a break-in procudeure, I had no trouble finding sub-half MOA loads with the Accubond LR and the 140 gr. Berger Elite Hunter. The Berger is one hole accuracy at 100 yards and .425" at 200 meters, so just under 1/4 MOA using IMR 7977 and Fed gold medal match primers in Hndy brass, stepping along at 2950 fps. The longest I've had a chance to shoot is 500 yards, and had no issues hitting a 6" gong 8 out of 10 times, with the 140 Berger. A more profecient marksman could do much better with the rifle. The accutrigger is a one of the best found in mass produced rifles. The Accustock's included spacers for customizing the LOP and comb height provide almost infinate choices for a perfect fit. The stock is also plenty rigid for a synthitic stock, likely because of the "internal aluminum chassis system". The bolt and safety was a little stiff at first, but quickly loosened up, and now is smooth as glass. To my surprise, the rifle came with a factory installed muzzle brake, that significantly reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise, combine that with the installed recoil pad and the 6.5 PRC is a pure joy to shoot! The finish on the stock looks great and appears to be very durable. The finish on the action and barrel is tough, and looks very nice with the stock. The rifle is a little front heavy, but nothing that really bothers me. The magazine allows for COAL's of right at 3" which limits the ability to get VLD style bullets "to the lands", unless you plan on single loading them, but the Berger Hybrid hunter is exceptionally accurate, even with the long jump, same with the 142 gr. ABLR. This rifle and the 6.5 PRC cartridge combine to make a fantastic platform for long range accuracy and a great hunting round. A shout out to Buds, even with the back log and delayed shipping times because of COVID-19, I still had my rifle in my hands within a week of purchase.
