Winchester XPR Black 350 Legend Bolt Action Rifle - 22" Barrel, 3+1 Rounds, Synthetic, Black Synthetic Stock

I have been looking for a budget rifle for a long time that didn’t feel like junk. This rifle fits the bill. It is solidly built and has a great trigger. Zero creep and zero overtravel. Mine broke at just over 3 pounds so didn’t feel any need to change it. The manual gives instructions to adjust the trigger but they also covered over the screws with hot glue. You will have to get through that before you can make any adjustments. The bolt movement is slick and feeding, extraction and ejection is positive. It is basically a less expensive Tikka in a lot of ways. I bought the rifle in .350 Legend because it can be used in Ohio if I hunt over there and is going to be good in the woods anywhere. The company website says the trigger is polymer. It is NOT. It is a polymer coated steel as a magnet sticks solidly to it. Factory loads (Winchester target loads) come in sub-moa so I can see more of these in the future in other calibers. If someone bought one of these as their first hunting rifle there is no reason they couldn’t be hunting with it 50 years from now. I will not hunt with a bolt gun that does not lock the bolt when on safe and this one does plus gives you an option to open the bolt by pushing a button (steel) to unlock the bolt. I own expensive rifles and love them but never would I feel bad about grabbing this one and hitting the range or the back mountains for a once in a lifetime hunt—I have that much confidence in it. Winchester is running a $50 online rebate now. Entered mine yesterday and got an email today saying it’s processed and expect the check in 3 to 4 weeks.
