The Iver Johnson Eagle 1911's have a forged slide and cast frame, which are CNC machined and then hand fitted to exceptional tolerances. Each slide is fit to an individual frame to give it a tight fit. 1911's come with a flat, serrated, steel mainspring housing to hold up to the rigors of an everyday shooter and the pistols have a finger relief cut near the trigger guard for a more comfortable shooting experience. Every pistol comes with one magazine, gun lock, manual and a hard black plastic lockable gun case.

Nicely made with nice trigger and smooth operation. Also, nice looking, handling and reliable. However, the adj. rear sight was loose and took it to a gunsmith to fix. Iver Johnson did reimburse the cost. Shoots 3 to 4 inches high at 25 yards regardless of loads and even with lighter bullets, 230 grains bullets print 4" plus at 25 yds (with rear sights all the way down). Best groups are not great either, around 3 to 4 inches over a rest. Haven't given up on it yet, but thinking about it if I can't iron out the accuracy issues. This gun is made for the range after all.

Don't waste your money. Needs to be a "VERY BAD" rating available for guns like this. Actually took a hammer to get the barrel out of the slide. Would not go into battery. Customer support recommended that I not send it back for repairs. My gunsmith got it "working" for $80. It will shoot now but the target needs to be barn size.

I was pretty skeptical when I bought this pistol, but as soon as I picked it up I saw that the fit and finish were really good. I took it to the range and put about 250 rounds through it with cheap ammo and it ate it all. After adjusting the rear sight I rested my hand on the bench 3 rounds that made one hole in the target at 10 yards. I think it needs a trigger job but I like a lite trigger. I own 5 1911"s of different price points and even after the trigger job this one is well worth the money. My next gun or two will be Iver Johnson's.
