Steyr Arms Scout Black 6.5mm Creedmoor Bolt Action Rifle - Blue/Black, 19" Barrel, 5+1 Rounds, Synthetic, Black Synthetic Stock

Been wanting a Steyr Scout Rifle for a long time and just never got one, but when Steyr announced it would be available now in 6.5 Creedmoor, I was glad I waited. When I recently checked, Bud's had the best price as usual and I couldn't wait any longer. This rifle is everything I expect from Steyr as I have owned a Steyr SBS Pro Hunter in 30-06 for over 20 years. The Steyr Scout is extremely well made and light weight. I love the integrated bipod and spare magazine storage as well as the built-in BUIS. Instead of mounting a traditional scout scope, since it is chambered in 6.5CM, I decided to mount a Bushnell 16x tactical scope to allow me to reach out farther with more precision. First time out to the the range and I'm shooting 0.75" 3-shot groups with Hornady ELD-M 140gr factory loads using the built-in bipod and sand bags, and it's still not even broken in yet!! Can't ask for much better, especially for a hunting rifle! The trigger is Phenomenal! Don't have a scale to measure, but guessing it to break at around 3.5lbs., which is just where i like it. The rifle also comes with an hard plastic/padded storage case from Steyr, which I thought was a nice touch. One thing I will mention is that if you plan to run a suppressor or muzzle brake, you'll need to purchase a muzzle thread adapter as it comes with an uncommon muzzle thread pitch of 1/2x20 from the factory. I installed a Kaw Valley Precision 1/2x20 to 5/8x24 adapter and it works perfectly. I now plan on this being my go-to hunting rifle for the foreseeable future. The combination of all this rifle has to offer and the 6.5CM cartridge I think makes the perfect package for hunting most game anywhere in the U.S. Thanks to Buds again for the fast shipping and the best price!
