The cylinder lock up is tight and the perfect timing of the action makes for a handgun that will put its shots where you want 'em. The machined barrel is micro-threaded, and inserted into the frame for the optimal barrel/cylinder gap to give you maximum ammunition performance.

I have had this little revolver for a while, and it is my favorite pistol. I take it with me when I’m out on the property, and sometimes just stop and fire at a tree, a stump, or a pile of dirt. I just love to pull the trigger on this little gem!

This is an interesting gun. Single-action .22 LR /MAG. Think of Samuel Colt back in 1850 when he invented this first "revolving" cylinder firearm. The Rough-Rider comes squeaky, sticky, loose, clicky and out of alignment. Be prepared to sit down at the kitchen table with your tools, emery and WD-40. After a bit of gunsmithing, you begin to like the feel. Load it and un-load about 10 times, spin the cylinder, dry-fire it a couple of dozen times. Now you are ready to take it out back (if you live on 50 acres) with your boxes of .22 LR and .22 MAGS. I started with .22 LR, loaded 9 cartridges in the cylinder, clean smooth feel, targets all set up at 35 yards ........ 2 handed grip ....... anxious anticipation, after locating my target, cocking the hammer, I was expecting a typical .22 LR quite and uneventful "thud", I didn't consider wearing my ear protection. But then after pulling the trigger ......... it was BOOM!!!!! with significant recoil. I immediately walked over to my patio table with my ears ringing and double checked to make sure the cartridges were .22 ........ then went into the house to find my ear protection. 54 rounds of .22 LR and 18 rounds of .22 MAGS later and a couple more sight adjustments, targets such as old spray-paint cans are being blown apart from 35 yards. This is a great inexpensive target-practice firearm for women that is also inexpensive regarding ammo. The weight is perfect which makes keeping your aim steady in the standing position. Another reason I like it, the weight, noise and recoil is comparable to my .32 (using acp) Charter Arms Undercoverette which is my CCW. I put genuine mother-of-pearl grips on the Rough-Rider which significantly improves the back-balance in comparison to the lighter wooden grips it comes with. I also bought the .22 MAG Cylinder that Heritage sells, which leaves me with the question as to why Heritage does not simply sell the Rough-Rider with the MAG Cylinder already installed, guess they just want to make you pay the extra $35.

I love my Heritage Rough Rider 6.5" 9 shot .22LR pistol!!! The look and feel is great in my hand and the wood grips are just beautiful!!! I am very glad that I got this model instead of just being content with the 6 shot version I already had.

Nice shooter. Nice fit and finish for the price. Has the weight of a heavy caliber pistol unlike some of the newer models from other companies.

Not too bad for the price point. The funky safety had to go & the finish is a bit glitzy for me, but it shoots fine & worth the $.
