Nice gun...I enjoy studying all aspects of WWI and WWII. The Firearms especially. This pistol isn't an exact replica but it's pretty close and it is verry fun to shoot. Great price too.

A very fine-looking pistol, a classic 1911 with minimal distractions. Compared to other 1911’s, this model is good value at the price point. This one has a plastic (Delrin) main spring housing, which is perfectly functional (and typical of Colt) but not old-school perfect. Several items on this pistol reflect the milspec heritage of this Government Model (small thumb safety, minimalist sights). Fit and finish very good – no blemishes or flaws.

As usual with newer Colts, had to file and polish the backside of the thumb safety to avoid it tearing up the bluing where it makes contact with the frame as the surface is very rough on this cast part and also tuned it so it clicks on and off correctly. Other than that the fit and finish is second to none. The bushing was tight and so was the slide to frame fit.

I ordered this gun from Bud's and it was at my local gun shop in just a few days. Thanks, Buds! I've wanted a Colt Government Model 1911 for a very long time. The pistol arrived in flawless condition and I am delighted with the fit and finish on this classic American icon. It is beautiful in person! I'm thrilled to add this pistol to my 1911 collection. I can't wait to take it to the range and put a few hundred rounds through it.

If you’re looking for a simple, plain 1911 with slightly better than GI sights, then this colt is for you. Markings are small and kept to a minimum which helps it have a nice clean profile. It has the flat mainspring housing instead of the arched, I have heard of colt using plastic on some models there, I don’t know if they have or not, but this one is definitely metal. I’ve ran about 250 rounds through it and have had no malfunctions thus far. The finish seems to be holding up to holster wear without any marks. Overall, very pleased with this colt, and would definitely recommend if you like simple, but not GI simple, and American made.

Not my first, last, cheapest or most expensive 1911. But, I think it is my favorite. It reminds me of being a kid and watching Magnum PI, or going to the range with my dad. A blued 1911 with a pony is special. Everyone should have one.

Being a fan of the 1911 and owning a few, I wanted a Colt both to add to my little collection and just to say I had one. Pistol shipped quickly and has been fun to shoot and train with. Great quality and shoots nicely and accurately. In almost 900 rounds I haven't had a single malfunction to date.
