I bought the Phoenix HP22A Range Kit just for the pistol with the 5" barrel. However, the case and cleaning accessories that came with it are a nice bonus. I got one in black to go with the one I already had in nickel finish. I did not need or want the DELUXE RANGE KIT that comes with a 3" barrel and an extra magazine in addition to everything in the Range Kit. In my experience the HP22A pistol is a nice little pistol to carry on walks and for dispatching small animals. It's also a fun little plinking pistol. In my experience it is just as accurate as a Browning Buckmark or a Ruger 22/45 but is much more compact and less expensive. I like to shoot CCI QUIET-22 SEMI-AUTO 22 LR ammo in my HP22A's.

Great value for this little 22 and 32cal combo

To be so inexpensive, this is really an amazing little pistol. I never would have bought it if not for the myriad positive reviews. I will add my review to that list. The pistol shoots well, and I quickly adjusted to its different safety features. The trigger is pretty good, but I am still going to give it the M*CARBO treatment. The manual recommends using 32-40 grains leaded round nose ammo in the 1050-1150fps range. Therefore, I have used nothing but Remington Target Standard Velocity LRN 40 grain 1150fps ammo, and I have encountered ZERO malfunctions of any kind. I like the way this pistol fits in my hand, and it has a nice heft to it. I do have one complaint. The take down lever can be very hard to manipulate. After oiling and working it numerous times, it is loosening up some. I later bought the 3.5” barrel. When you go to switch the barrels, you can really tell this is an inexpensive pistol. I have had to file down and smooth out several places to get it to fit, and then it has been almost impossible to work the takedown lever. I have actually had to use a hammer and punch to move it. I am going to do a real good comparison of the two barrels to see if I can see what the differences are that are causing this problem. I’m confident I can make it work. Overall, this is an enjoyable pistol. I ordered a couple of replacement parts from Phoenix Arms, and they shipped them immediately. Keeping the price tag in mind, this pistol will exceed your expectations. It is a fun gun.

This is a nice small .22LR pistol for anyone looking for a basic pistol. The cleaning kit and bot that comes with is nice too. The only real thing I see wrong with it is how hard it is to get apart and back together with the spring, I have pout a lot of rounds through it around 1,000 rounds and only jammed like 6 times due to brass not getting ejected all the way.

This Phoenix Arms HP22 has been flawless in its operation since day one!!! I have liked this pistol from the first day I got it; it has a great feel and weight to it. I have put over 1000 rounds through it of various brands and grains. I’ve had a few FTF with certain brands of ammo (polishing the feed ramp helped a lot). The safety’s are cumbersome, but are fine once you get the hang of them. It is very accurate to my surprise. Takedown is a little difficult at first; it does get easier with use. I bought this firearm for myself for fun, and to teach my wife how to shoot. We liked it so much we bought another one!! In my opinion for the money you can’t beat it! Buds Gun Shop was excellent in every way with this firearm purchase; I will shop there again in the future.

This gun shoots flawlessly if using standard velosity round points, i did try quiets but it would not cycle the round. Diasembly is a little tough but a little practice and it is possible, real fun gun, pretty accurate if shooting at close range. Better gun than i thought it would be.
