The Colt Combat Unit design was guided by US Special Forces Trainers whose tactical expertise delivered a gun equipped to handle and shoot with the highest levels of control, accuracy, and reliability - the rest depends on you. The matte black DLC coated stainless steel frame is corrosion-resistant and EDC-friendly. Custom G10 grips and 25 LPI checkering provide steady traction all around, and an undercut trigger guard and upswept beavertail safety command proper hand placement for accuracy and recoil control. Front and rear angled slide serrations and an extended magwell support quick reloads, while Novak sights quickly form an uncluttered sight picture. Really like this pistol but had a lot of stoppages in my 9mm (failure to feed, failure to extract), at least one stoppage every third magazine ( using Wilson Combat Magazines) with practice ammo. Had my gunsmith polish the feed ramp and smith the extractor (took a little metal off the claw), now pistol shoots flawlessly. Waiting on Cor Bon 9mm 100 grain P Powerball round (if I can ever get any) to shoot and make sure pistol likes the round before I carry the round for self defense. Also own this pistol in .45 ACP using Cor Bon 165 grain P Powerball round for self defense carry round. Unfortunately I believe Cor Bon has discontinued this particular. 45 ACP round, it is no longer offered on their website. It is a great round. Colt 1911s are designed to shoot ball ammunition and these pistols can be temperamental. The Cor Bon Powerball round feeds flawlessly in Colt 1911s. Colt is over priced, their quality control is not good, and their tech service sucks. I think Colt is trying to make a living on their name rather then their current firearms. Having said this, no other pistol points as well for me as a Colt 1911.

Great piece. Shoots very accurate right out of the box.. Cleaned it, light oil and put 200 rounds through the first weekend. Repeated the next weekend.

    Hi Mike and welcome. According to TALO: Built for duty or defensive use, the TALO edition 1911 Government Combat Unit in 45 ACP starts with an all stainless steel frame and slide, topped with a matte black PVD finish for extremem corrosion resistance.
    The frame is fitted with an extended mag well for faster mag changes, and the frontstrap is checkered for improved grip no matter the conditions. The slide includes forward cocking serrations for easier press-checks, and is topped with a Novak night sight up front, matched with a Low Mount Carry rear for an excellent sight picture day or night.
    An Ambi extended thumb safety, upswept beavertail grip safety and G10 grips, with scallop for easier access to the mag release, round out the package. Built using over 100 years of experience with the 1911 platform and expert input, the TALO exclusive Colt Combat Unit 1911 is an excellent choice for a duty or carry 1911. Cheers and stay safe!
