I have a 1943 Ithaca 1911 A1 and it's a clone of that shoots as well but 500 rounds through it already no problems

I just received this weapon at my FFL a few days after purchase. Great service as always from buds. Gun is very well made. I don’t know if it’s in the description or not, but mine came in a hard plastic case with two mags and a couple of tools. Very nice surprise! I put 200 rounds through it and no issues at all. Very manageable recoil. Very accurate once you get used to the traditional iron sites. Smooth trigger also. Buy this gun. It’s totally worth it.

At this price, you should buy this gun. According to Tisas, the slide and frame are forged. The gun is Cerakoted in a green/gray color that mimics the appearance (but not the feel) of parkerizing. I looked at the specs on the Tisas website and they state the finish is Cerakote as well. They also Cerakoted the outside of the barrel. My example came in a pretty decent plastic case with a bore brush, a slotted patch rod, a bushing wrench, trigger lock, and two magazines. The magazines are seven rounds each and the floor plate is stamped "Check-Mate." The magazines feel a little cheap, mainly because of the thin metal used and when you push the follower down it feels like the inside of the magazine body is lined with sandpaper. That being said, they functioned absolutely flawlessly. The markings referencing "Made in Turkey" have been moved to the bottom of the dust cover on the frame. They are very discreet. The right side of the frame is marked "Tisas Knoxville TN" and displays the serial number. The left side of the slide is marked "Model 1911A1 U.S. Army." Fit and finish is very good on the outside, and mostly good on the inside. You can see where they cut corners. For example, the inside of the magazine well/front strap is super rough with obvious tool marks. It didn't interfere with magazine changes and you can't see it normally so that isn't really an issue. The other parts, like the inside of the slide, are very smooth. The magazine release is very stiff. Hopefully it breaks in over time, but on my example you aren't going to accidentally drop a magazine. I think some parts are probably metal injection molded; on the hammer I can see circle marks through the finish that look like they could be sprues. Trigger is pretty decent and did not hinder accuracy. I was definitely impressed with the accuracy. Hammer bite is real on this one. I only have about 225 rounds through the weapon. I used a variety of manufacturers, all 230 grain ball. I also ran a few magazines of Golden Saber JHP through both the supplied magazines and some Mec-Gar magazines. Absolutely no issues with the JHP; it ran the Golden Saber rounds perfectly. About halfway through my first range trip, the Mec-Gar magazines started nose-diving FMJ rounds into the feed ramp. No such issues with the supplied Check-Mate magazines. I wouldn't count that against the gun, but rather against the magazine. I did have three failures that were the fault of the gun. In all circumstances, a round was fully chambered. However, the slide didn't go totally into battery. It appeared as though the extractor was too stiff to engage with the round. This could probably be fixed through further break in or properly adjusting the extractor. If you responded to this problem with a "tap-rack" you would have caused a double-feed, which isn't great. All in all, this is a solid choice for a budget 1911. I've owned a few budget 1911s, including Rock Island and Taurus. I would personally choose the Tisas over those. This particular model (with the plastic diamond grips) has apparently been discontinued by Tisas (per their website) and replaced with what seem to be the same exact thing with factory wood grips. I'm very happy with this firearm!

I like this weapon very much. It fires every time and hits where I put the sights. If I had anything to do with manufacturing this weapon I would suggest putting sights easier to see in low light. Over the years I have purchased 5 of these weapons, 2 for me and 3 for my sons. Satisfied for what they are used for.

Handsome firearm, and seems well built. But...If you have bigger hands, the hammer bite will make you bleed.

I don’t know how they’re able to produce these so affordably. It goes and goes and goes. That being said, a Springfield armory (or even a rock Island armory) model will be nicer than this in almost every way. But at this price, you might as well just get one.

Amazing tip to top, top to tip. This is my first 1911, I was impressed with the quality and solid feel and function. Barrel locks up tight with absolutely no play on either end. Finish is blemish free even after 250ish rounds except for light scuffing that all 1911s get at the ejection port area. Since this 1911 I've had the chance to compare it to examples that cost 2.5 times more and it has no need to make excuses about the value and quality. Love the olive drab finish, two matching Checkmate mags and functional travel quality case.

Being a cheap pistol,it exceeded my expectations on quality. Nice finish,no marks or anything. Pretty tight,no loose movements.works with different mags and ammo,no problems on first 100. Sights are tiny, hard to see,but I knew it before I bought it. It’s an old school 1911A1,with better quality, not it’s not a $1000 gun. Very satisfied with it.
