Great addition to my collection! I have always used my regular .22 rifle with shotshells which resulted in extensive cleaning to restore the accuracy when switching back to conventional .22 LR ammunition. Having a smooth bore .22 is fantastic. Much better shot patterns and the barrel stays clean and shiny! Love it! Love the purchasing process as well.

This little rifle is perfect for the garden varmints for me. No longer have to worry about bullets bouncing off to who knows where. Henry makes the best lever action rifles you can buy. I now have five of them. Also the Henry customer service is really outstanding.

Good metal to wood finish. Dark ash stock is good looking and functional all in one. Cycled the CCI and Federal shot shell ammunition flawlessly and smoothly. Patterns were better than expected with slightly better patterns using the Federal Ammunition in my trials. Could not get the Winchester shells to trial. Magazine tube slides a little rough but not too bad. Overall I am pleased with the firearm which is good because they are currently the only smooth bore 22 on the market I could find new.

A:Keith, rimfire rifles with tubular magazines are exempt from the 10 round limit. I live in NJ and I have a Henry Golden Boy .22lr. Have a great day!See 2 more answers | -

A:Yes it is smooth bore, and technically you could fire standard ammo out of it but its not recommended. As it has no rifling it would not stabilize the projectile, which would drop you muzzle energy, velocity, range and accuracy would not be very good at all. The point of these are to be used as a garden gun to eliminate pests, near your home where you don't want to worry about a stray round going into your houseSee 1 more answer |
