Great functioning handgun! This is the first .22LR semi-auto pistol I’ve ever owned that hasn’t had cycling issues. For the price, you can’t beat it! This thing is a lot of fun to shot, and even though it’s very lightweight, it handles recoil like a champ! It is incredibly simple to field strip and clean. Great accuracy, and the sights are easy to see, and easy to adjust. Kel-Tec really put some thought into the design of this pistol, because it is unlike any other .22LR pistol that I’ve used. The one and only issue was with the magazines. The first few times I shot this, the first round in a full magazine would have trouble chambering, due to the tension from the magazine spring. This was easily corrected by lightly tapping the slide forward. After some breaking in, this issue completely went away. At this point, I have absolutely no complaints. I would definitely recommend this pistol!

Great 22 pistol! It actually feels good to shoot, pretty dead on accurate with the sights. No jams/misfires after using over 100 rounds of bulk 22. This gun will definitely meet your expectations as it is smooth firing and light recoil. Had so much fun shooting this Kel Tec, I may buy another one just for an extra concealed carry. I really feel in love with the light weight when fully loaded, size and the smooth shooting ergonomics of this pistols feel.

I'm happy with this pistol. It's light and shoots straight right out of the box. Not going to give it 5 stars because it is a little pricey for this pistol. No jams though I use thunderbolt 22lr for target and I carry federal punch. I would recommend it. But I can see there's just as many who don't like it. So it's a matter of opinion I suppose. I'm a fan of 22lr because it's cheap and plentiful and almost zero recoil.

This Kel-Tec P17 turned out to be exactly what i had hoped. Been looking at this pistol as a Christmas gift for my kids for about 2 years, reading reviews etc. After my last round of research and Bud's having a crazy low price on the pistol at the time, I purchased it. The gun was at my local dealer and ready for pick-up in short order. I picked up 5 boxes of ammo while i was there. I was very selective, being sure the boxes varied in velocity as much as possible. My first impressions of the pistol as i opened the box were the same as what i'd seen in photos online. The gun looks....plastic-ee...and it is a lot of plastic. The case also contained three 16 rd magazines, a gimmicky looking trigger lock, and instruction manual. The plastic case seemed well made and the interior was padded with eggshell foam. I got the pistol home and immediately loaded each of the three magazines with the three lowest velocity offerings i had just purchased. I stepped off the deck and raced through all three without a hitch. I then loaded two of the magazines with the two higher velocity ammunition. They, likewise, ran through the gun with no issue.I continued to fire the remainder of the ammunition as fast as i could pull the trigger until it was gone. Ammo from 5 manufacturers, 3 different bullet weights, 3 different bullet types, at velocities from 1030fps to 1460fps cycled through the pistol. The gun ran through all 250 without flaw. I was impressed. I was expecting to have to clear a jam or two, as my only past experience with .22 cal semi-auto pistols was with a Ruger target pistol and a Browning target pistol both owned by buddies. I recall these pistols being accurate and fun to shoot, but i also recall clearing jams pretty regularly. So this gun, that i just bought for a fraction of what either of those guns cost, running all that ammo like that straight out of the box, confirmed i had made a good purchase, indeed. I then purchased 500 rds of one of the tested offerings running 1400+ fps. Christmas Day came and went, a cold, rainy, windy Christmas Day. The next day was gorgeous. The kids wanted to shoot. I gave them the basic rundown of how this particular gun operates (they all shoot guns of all types pretty often). My 15 year old loaded up a mag and took a shot at a can of soda from 25 feet. Nothing. Odd for this kid. He hits what he aims at. He tried again and again. Pop can remained unscathed. I made a trip to the backstop and found a fine group of tiny holes a full foot above the can. I used the hex wrench that came with the pistol to crank the rear sight down a considerable piece. My boy fired again and the pop can smartly exploded, it's bloated carcass falling off its log perch onto the ground. He continued to fire, striking the can with every shot, making it dance about in front of the backstop. The other kids took their turn. The gun ran and ran. No issues at all. The gun is now zero'd well enough to be fun. We will go out at a later date with actual bullseye targets and see just how tight we can shoot it, but im confident the gun will perform to at least the skill level of it's intended shooters. In summary, the particular Kel-Tec P17 I ended up with well exceeds my expectations of a semi-auto .22 pistol at any price, let alone one costing under $200. If you're looking for a fun, reliable, and economic .22 pistol, I highly suggest you look closely at the Kel-Tec P17.

Hi. This pistol is more than I expected. It is light but not to the point where it feels toyish. Shoots smoothly. I use Norma Tech ammo, 22lr and I had no feeding issues. I really like this nice plinker. Its a bang for what you pay for it.
