It’s a snake gun! Yes it’s as wonderful as the older ones if not better. Don’t let anyone tell you different! Buds was amazing as always!

There are those that say they like their ‘old Colt Pythons’ better, when compared to the newer one, (often referred to as post 2020). I’m 71 years old and own both old and new. The difference in quality is noticeable. These ‘newer’ Colt ‘snake guns’ are very well made. The technology used to manufacture them nowadays far exceeds the older ‘hand made’ Colts in every way. This Colt Python 4.25” is perfect. I highly recommend you get one for yourself and I’m sure you’ll agree. Thank you Colt, for bringing these back into production, allowing us Colt lovers to own one of the best Colt firearms y’all have made yet.

Love Colt Python have shot it a lot, love it. Just target shooting so far no hunting yet but it's still new so I have a lot of guns and I have to give the rest of them a chance to get in the game. But this 357 is my favorite right now, feels real good in my hand and shoots great.

Love the gun but , the front sight screw fell out first time shooting and the rear sight wiggles back and forth. For the money the gun should have usable sights, The front sight had no loc tight on it and must have been loose from the factory so that was an easy fix .In order for me to get the rear sight to not have movement I had to shim it . I ended up buying Wilson combat sights and they are perfect. If it wasn't for the sights I would give it five stars . Any pistol that comes with sights that are unusable along with the poor factory installation of the front sight does not warrant five stars. I have since went out and looked at many of the same pistols and every one of them had a loose rear sight. The cut out where the rear sight goes is to large for the sight that they put in.

This is a difficult review to write. I have had a Python on my wish list for years. I finally decided to buy this 4.25” model. The purchase process itself was fine. When it arrived at my FFL, I was eager to pick it up. It is, in a word, gorgeous. Fit, finish…the “look” was everything I had hoped. Beautiful gun. However, that is where the goodness ended. The trigger is way short of expectations. DA mode was short, but nowhere near buttery smooth as expected. I recently purchased a S&W 586, and the 586 trigger in DA shooting is much smoother. Ok, but certainly SA would be better…..nope. Once again, the 586 is exponentially better. I understand that description of a trigger can be quite subjective. The Python trigger is not bad, but way short of expectations. Beautiful gun. Comparatively lousy trigger.
