Pros:
-Compact.
-Heavier towards the rear or stock of the gun because of the bolt and recoil mechanism being in the back. This in turn made it super easy for ADS and way less fatigue when holding while ADS. The end of the gun near the foregrip was super light.
-Comfortable in the hands.
-It was a smidge snug with ADS, but it made you be on point with aiming. But I also have a big head
-Found out later the gun has a front tritium sight like my VP9 TACTICAL so I was stoked with that. But also to note that it has flip-up sights within the picatinny rail and you can adjust for bullet drop and windage according to the Manuel
-Optics would be great with this gun guarenteed.
Fired consistent and smooth with no jams
-Foregrip plastic slides off to expose picatinny rails on the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions which I never knew about.
-Super easy to clean recoil mechanism. Just pull out the rear but stock pin on the top and the rubber shoulder stop opens down like a door and you can pull it all out without worry of anything flying out.
Cons:
-Because the stock is long and obviously cannot be split. It is a little tight for cleaning. It will take some time to get used to removing everything to clean but still an impressive gun.
It was a little heavy for a 5.56 carbine, but I was ready for that due to all of the reviews and research I put in beforehand. The balance is perfect, for me, especially with a loaded 30 round magazine inserted.
25 yards was the maximum distance available to me for the first outing. A few clicks on an EOTech 553 and head shots were easy; 1-inch 3 shot groups were also easy. In spite of what the internet says about X95 accuracy, this is fine with me... I was and am prepared to accept 4 MOA in a short carbine intended for close range use. These were not designed to be sniper rifles.
In the first couple hundred rounds I had one double feed with a Vietnam-era 20 round magazine while zeroing; no other malfunctions. Time for that mag to retire. Other mags used were Lancer (older translucent) Lancer L5AWM, PMag, Israeli steel mags, and an oddball Mission First Tactical mag I got in a trade somewhere. All inserted, ejected, and fed fine with 55-grain Wolf Gold (Taiwanese M193), 77-grain Sierra Match King OTM, 64-grain Federal Gold Dot, and 62-grain Federal Gold Dot.
The manual of arms takes conscious thought after 30 plus years of M16/M4 and AK training, potential buyers be warned. Folding iron sights seem fragile, but the front sight has tritium, nice. This weapon needs a red dot.
Overall I am completely satisfied with this purchase, however after watching another video of Tom Alibrando switching shoulders and not getting Brass To Face, I wish I would have just gotten a regular right hand version; I waited a long time to find a deal on the lefty!
If you want a short carbine, and are prepared to learn a different manual of arms, but do not wish to spend an extra $200 and secure the blessing of ATF, I highly recommend this carbine. I can see why the Israelis went with it, especially for a conscript army that will probably not shoot another carbine for the most part and not have to "unlearn" the M16/M4 manipulations.
5 stars; would have downgraded for weight if I planned on humping this thing in some kind of foot mobile bug-out scenario, but this is a fun gun that is useful around the house and in a vehicle. For crazy Mad Max fantasists, stick with your M4/AK platform.

A:Robert, you are correct. Bud's picture shows the right handed configuration. LH picture here >>> https://iwi.us/product/tavor-x95-5-56-nato-w16-barrel-lh/ ....also if you read the owners manual, the gun can be converted to LH or RH configuration. See pg 50 of manual >>> https://iwi.us/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/08.011.02.16.00-X95.pdfSee 1 more answer | -

A:Yes, everything is ambidextrous. So it can be manipulated by left or right. Although the spent casings will eject to the right but shouldn't be an issue. Hope this helps.See 2 more answers |
