Great and seamless service from purchasing to receiving the SP5 froms Buds. Product arrived with no defects, came with all acessories, x2 mags, and range bag that was listed in the item discription. The SP5 itself is an amazing shooter, very soft recoil and ergonomic controls. I have shot roughly 2000 rounds so far and no malfunctions or issues to speak of. I highly recommend this product for any one looking for a excellent roller delayed pistol.

I am a 30+yr gun collector and of all my favorite brands HK would be near the top. I own just about every HK firearm made since the early 80's G3,PSG,MR556,G36,TG36, MR762 and most handguns etc. For subguns I own the UMP, Mp5 2 preban, 2 auto sear packs, SP89,SP94,SP5k and SP5 I also own a PTR 603 clone for a sear host. I bought one more SP5 as a project gun or its at TPM for a SD conversion only one I am waiting on is a civilian MP7. So as you can see very big HK enthusiast/collector. Pardon the long introduction but I just wanted to say the fit and finish from one of my 1970's Mp5's is on par with this new SP5 both function exactly the same the SP5 is newer of course but the parts are all interchangeable with my original MP5's. This last SP5 I purchased from Buds was as always top notch no damage whatsoever. The SP5 has came in a outer CB box, inside your typical HK (sub) black range bag, no hardcase like the K, it comes with 2 mags steel mags, sight tool, lock, manual and other paperwork, rifle sling, bag sling and some HK swag. As I said I own 2 SP5's I usually buy guns I like in pairs so I have one to keep NIB or to collect while shooting or using the other etc. But of those 2 the fit and finish is 2nd to none. One big reason why I love HK is that they test their guns for example the SP5 is test shot with a full 30 rounds then the gun is remeasured etc. I have heard this from HK armorers. I even brought my no go gauge when picking this gun up from my FFL and the bolt gap was spot on. Regarding clones? Some are good some are not so good. So many say the clones are like the real thing for a lot less in price. I have shot and do own a PTR clone myself so I am NOT being biased the PTR is very nice in fit, finish and shoots exactly the same as the SP5l. But its no where near the real deal the finish of any HK beats any clone gun any day, there is a reason why the HK costs so much more and its NOT because of the name. HK has some of the best QA in the industry every gun that leaves the factory has been tested and retested. Its why its such a trusted brand used by many police and military forces the world over. The SP5 shoots no different than any other MP5 or the SP89 etc. The action is smooth as glass, recoil is very soft due to the roller locking system. Only thing is some of the cheaper mags do not fit as well. So I would ( again for me only) use only German mags for this gun. I shoot brass and steel like Wolf thru my HK'sand have shot thousands of rounds thru my HK's over the decades and never had a problem. You have to keep them clean and maintained, always have spare bolt parts which are like only $23 on Hkparts. One last thing and it states this in the manual NEVER EVER USE ALUMINUM AMMO! This type of ammo will 100% damage your firearm I cannot stress this enough. So if you can afford to find and buy one as these things are so rare now and many are way overpriced by the gougers on online gun auction sites etc. It would be a tough to find but if you do? Jump on it, the price may be high but once you get over the sticker shock you will be glad you got the real thing. Trust me even today I cringe at buying $3k-10k guns I am just a longtime collector not some billionaire. Pardon again the long review or rant I hardly ever post reviews I buy guns from various online shops or distributors not just Buds. I have been a Buds and TB member for over 12years now and have bought mid ** in guns here since then never had any problems due to Buds themselves their CS has been stellar. Only problems I had when buying from Buds was 2 things one a broken rifle that would not cycle so just sent it back for refund. 2nd was more serious and was the shippers fault, had an HK Tactical 45 Compact stolen the box was resealed but damaged and was empty. But Buds sent me out another asap. As I said great CS. And no I do not work for Buds, HK,SIG or any other brand you may see me review here. Disclaimer: I also SBR all my PCC's and rifle caliber pistols IE:Don't forget NFA rules (I dislike braces) you cannot put on a stock or forward fore grip without doing your form 1's or form 4's and SBR these guns. You can use braces just fine but to each their own I don't use or like braces due to them being such a grey area.

I've taken it to the range once so far and I love it. Much better than my scorpion evo. Price was a little steep but you get what you pay for with hk and it was about the same as a local shop. Recoil, barley there, accuracy, better than I expected.

It's about as close to an MP5, without the high speed option, as I've seen with desireable features like the paddle mag release and extended safety. The soft case is nicely done with additional velcro straps to customize it for your needs. Definitely needs to have a brace or stock added in order to be more practical. I think the rear sight should have been the older style enclosed holes instead of the slots. The price is definitely high so this may be more of an investment firearm than a daily shooter. I'm not sure why Bud's decided to cut the left corner off the front flap of the cardboard box which for collector value would be a knockdown for some future buyers.
