If you are a bull-pup nerd like I am, you need a Tavor/X95 in your collection. I wouldn't say it is objectively better than a lot of other rifles in this segment (especially AR pattern guns), but it has character. Sometimes a little character really sets a gun apart. It is reliable, accurate, and fun to shoot. So, why not have a little character?

Always wanted a Bullpup, shoots extremely nicely. Haven’t had any issues with it.

IWI Tavor X95, was happy with other IWI products that I have bought in the past. Had to have a go at this being as many years ago got a chance to shoot the first model. Like the up grades and the 18" barrel in such a short pakage. As with any bull pup, trigger is not the greatest. A lot of the manual of arms is the same as an AR, that helps a lot. Mag change is different at first but have gotten to where I like it and it works for me just fine. As always I pre clean any new firearm and lap the barrel. Just so you know when you buy one of these, it is no AR push a pin and go work on it. It is a very different duck to take apart and service. Be warned, watch a demo of how to take apart and put back together. I would think that IWI would of come up with a simpler way to knock the Tavor X95 down to clean and service. I give it a 4 stars because of trigger and disassemble and reassemble, not so easy! Have an after market trigger on order, they say it helps a lot. We will see. As always so happy with the Bud's team and help they are 6 stars in my book! Can't go wrong at Bud's!

Although they have tried making it like the AR-15 the manual of arms is still different enough that I would want to practice more before using it as my home defense gun. It has not had a single problem and the OD Green is awesome. I put a surefire x400 and ACOG with a Savvy sniper sling and love the set up.

Gun appears functional. Have not taken it to the range yet. Had a double feed while hand cycling but I assume that is my fault. the plastics feel incredibly solid with no give. The gun did not feel ergonomic enough without a fore-grip so I bought a one and it felt much better. The pull is very different compared to an AR-15. It is very "secure" as a family member put it. The pistol grip sits much closer to you than normal if you are use to extending the AR-15 stock all the way out. The back up iron sights are good but the rear is so close to your eyes that it hurts precision sighting. The gun screams for a red dot and that will have to be my next purchase along with a new gas cover that prevents "tavor face." The buttons are taking time to get use to (I keep wanting to hit a mag release next to the magazine despite knowing that only the original tavor 21 had this feature). The gun is NOT OD Green, I wanted OD Green but it all depends on the die batch for colored plastics and instead I ended up with a strong Woodland Green. The plastics seemed to match perfectly at least.
I bought this gun because I wanted a go to rifle for home or country defense that was not only small enough to maneuver around a suburban area and house, modern enough that most people never clean them, simple enough to clean that it can be done in a couple minuets, and close enough to my body that my essential tremor (hand shake) is minimized as much as possible. I spent years researching and comparing modern rifles and found that this one was right for me. The gun is also pretty heavy but being a bullpup it doesnt feels much less heavy while aiming compared to my SR-556 of equal weight.
I went with he 18 inch barrel because the gun is a 1:7 twist which means it takes high gr. rounds. Higher grain rounds need a longer barrel to burn in if you want them to meet their highest velocity. Also.... bayonet lug. A home invader (despite staring down a barrel) will be less likely to grab a gun that is sharp.
If I have any issues at the range I can send it into IWI USA because of the 1 year limited warranty. It doesnt cover shipping damage but nothing appears remotely harmed by shipping.
TLDR: Gun good despite odd issues.

The Travor X95 is everything I had hoped it would be. It shoots great, with little recoil. Is simple to disassemble for cleaning. If I have any criticism, it is that the top rail is low and makes an optic or even iron sights difficult to use properly. I have replaced the rail with an after market made specifically for the Travor which raises the sight plain to approximately an AR-15 height. The quality of the firearm and the fit of all the components is exceptional. I am extremely grateful to Bud's Guns for this purchase and will do as much of my business with them as possible. Thanks.
