Anthony, it sure is. This will fire +p ammo no problem. As with every manufacturer they recommend limited use since it can wear parts quicker than standard velocity ammo but unless you're shooting thousands of rounds doubt you'll ever notice a difference vs standard velocity ammo. So once in awhile to test defense ammo and won't have any issue. I just wouldn't be shooting hundreds of rounds every range trip threw it. Hope this helps.

Does this gun have a thumb safety?

Donal, no the XDM Elite does not come with a manual thumb safety. Have a great day!

Donal, only a Grip Safety and a Trigger Blade Safety. It also has an internal Drop Sear Safety. Cheers and stay safe!

No manual safety, it features passive safety only. it has a trigger bar safety, a 1911 style grip safety, and striker channel block (drop safety) no thumb lever, just get a full firing grip with your finger fully on the trigger and its good to go

Yes, I have the 4½" barrel version of this gun, and it includes a U sight rear with a white line, and a red fiber optic front sight. This gun shoots incredibly, and the sights are very fast to acquire, I do wish it had either tritium in the front sight, or came optics ready ( the Tactical comes optics ready and with threaded barrel, but the standard version doesn't have an optics ready version in a full size)

This is a very good gun for the price!! You won’t find it cheaper anywhere else. The gun shoots and handles well. 20+1 capacity and feels good in hand. I had the XDM and sold it to a friend and regretted it until I purchased the XDM Elite. Great trigger, slide serrations. Rear sight, another round and ambi controls, make this a great service pistol!! I’m very happy with the quality of this firearm and the service that I received from Buds Gun Shop!! Can’t wait to purchase another gun from buds!!

This is a fantastic firearm. The grip safety was never a big deal for me. It handles very smooth and easy to get back on track for rapid shots. The "U shaped" rear sights are nice. But that is subjective. I had my slide milled to fit a EPS so the rear sight was not a deal breaker for me anyway. Overall it is a fantastic firearm to add to my growing collection. I am also considering the 10mm compact just being I love how this gun handles.

Can't gi wrong with a Springfield this elite made the regular 3.8 9mm better with the trigger and magwell fir easier reloading plus the extra ammo in the mag

I love this gun is your perfect barrel length of the capacity is awesome quality fit and finish is always been there with Springfield I own many Springfield’s !!
