Federal Premium .30-06 Springfield 175 gr Terminal Ascent 20 Bx/ 10 Cs - Brass Casing

Bought for my new Tikka T3X Stainless 30-06. Wanted a premium bonded option that I could use as a “do-all” hunting round that I could use hunting white tail and hog in the southeast, as well as pronghorn, mulies, elk, black bear, and black tail out west. With this load in 30-06, I’d feel confident in terminal ballistics on everything previously mentioned out to 500 yards (although l don’t shoot pst 400 personally). Shot 40 of the terminal ascent and grouped against Hornady Precision Hunter with the ELD-X. The TA consistently grouped at 1 MOA at 100 yards. I think it will group tighter with a better shooter and a better rest than I was using. Overall, I like its grouping size and the price is excellent for a premium bonded bullet. Will have to wait until this fall to test on game.

Have had good luck with Terminal Ascent load in 6.5 PRC and 308 custom build. Have a new 30-06 build that I am hopeful to have same results. Where I hunt elk, shots under 500 yards are few and far between so the way these TA bullets are designed and loaded by Federal for expansion at distance and sufficient velocity help me avoid use of magnum bruisers!!! We shall see as hunting elk in the high country of Arizona again (8700 feet) and looking forward to using my new ‘06 towards a successful hunt. I shhot this ammo along side my Trophy bonded Tip ammo and there is less than 2/3 inch difference in my rifles with the Terminal Ascent 175 grain ammo. It’s great. Bullet stays together on impact and passes through for good blood trail if they go farther than where shot. Great stopping power with humane kills. Great ammo from Federal Premium. Used this brand for over 40 years. Tried others but always come back to this, it’s accurate and dependable and Buds will have the best price
