Purchased this pistol after falling in love with the Beretta 21a Bobcat in 22lr. The gun really makes no sense as .32 acp ammo is expensive and there are lots better options for CCW out there but I bought it anyway. After initial range time I was less than impressed with it. Experienced failure to feed problems on every magazine with 5 different brands of ammo through 3 different magazines. Tried Magtec , PPU, PMC Bronze, Aquila and Underwood Extreme. Went through about 220 rounds fooling with the magazines and polishing the feed ramp and never could get through a full mag without numerous failures. Also had a problem with the slide fit to the frame. With hammer back and barrel flipped up the slide would fall off the gun if turned upside down. Finally sent it in to Beretta and got it back after about 3 weeks. They were a little vague about what they did to it . After more testing the gun ran better but still had failures to feed. (Hung up nose down below feed ramp slide jammed open ) but at least the slide stayed on the frame. At this point I have run approx. 400 rounds ($200 worth of ammo) and it is just beginning to become somewhat reliable. I still will have a failure to feed round every now and then although it will now get through a full magazine or two without problems if I'm lucky. It is just so random I can't trust the gun. When it jams it is simple to pull the slide back and let the round slide into the chamber but not good in a bad situation. Overall I love this pistol , it is beautiful and feels good in hand but it is just a range toy for me as it cannot be trusted to run reliably at this point. After my experience with this particular gun and reading a lot of info about frames cracking and other problems with it I probably would not make this purchase if I had it to do over.

Good looking, accurate small pistol. Picky about ammo, and is not recommended to use the hotter Fiocchi and S&B ammo. Hated Norma, but functioned well with PMC. Very easy too shoot. The tip up barrel needs two hands to close, but I have only run 100 rounds through it. Could not remove the grips to oil the springs, but otherwise easy to clean. I use an ADCO Super Thumb that I bought for my Bersa Thunder 380 to load the magazine, otherwise it is still slow to load. I have not tried the Keltec P32 yet, but suspect the weight of the Tomcat would make it easier to use. I bought my Tomcat when Beretta was running their $150 rebate, so ended up paying $350 for it, which is great.

this is the first handgun I have bought that is this compact. Wasn’t sure if I would like it. Took it to the range in the first week. It may be the funnest gun to shoot. The flip up barrel is very unique. It took a while to explain the concept to my wife that you needed that first round to start the action. Great addition to the collection.

Long coveted this compact pistol. With age and loss of hand strength, tip up barrel easy to manage. Fit and finish are good. Looking forward to experiencing pocket carry.

I'm an old guy with arthritis and big hands, so with the tip up barrel and wide grip this little gun works great for me, also it's a Beretta for $250?!? yes please!
