Full disclosure, I'm in my mid-50s but fairly new to the gun game, and I think this is the only lever gun I've actually fired. In spite of its "tacticool" look, it still feels like I'm riding the range in Montana when I'm shooting it. The lever breaks in pretty quickly and is otherwise very smooth. The sights it comes with are fine, but I threw a Bushnell red dot on it. I have a small range on the property, only about 20 yards, but it's easy to get a handful of shots in a palm-sized area. I'm not a great shot. I really love how this gun shoots, how it feels, and it's really just fun operating it. It really gets me in the old Rifleman feels (even though that show was old when I was a kid). There is negligible recoil, even with .357 magnum rounds. I haven't shot any .38 rounds through it, but I imagine they would feel like a BB gun. The only real gripe I have so far is that the gate is REALLY rough. I can't push the rounds through with just my thumb, I have to use another round to get them all the way in. I've put about a hundred rounds through it at this point, but the gate doesn't seem to be loosening up any. Maybe another hundred will do the trick. Also, not really a gripe, but because it ejects through the top, I couldn't fit the scope I bought for it on the rail. That's on me, but something you should be aware of.

Shoots flawlessly! Love everything about it except the load gate is stiff but that's an easy fix
