Daniel, no this gun does not have a manual safety.

Daniel, no external safety Sir. The FN 503 has a steel trigger with a safety lever inset and a 5-to-7-pound trigger. I found mine to break at an average of 5.2, which is sweet for a factory striker-fired trigger pack. It also has an extended slide stop and fenced-off magazine-release with a raised texture.

this fn 503 does not have a manual thumb safety

No manual thumb safety on this pistol, it does have a trigger bar safety, and a drop safety.

would this be to big for pocket carry

It honestly depends on your pockets, for a jacket sure it'd be fine. It's bigger then I'd pocket carry in my pants pocket, as its a little long and tall. This would be almost unnoticeable conceal carried appendix in a quality kydex holster.
